Job title: Lead Dock Worker
Classification: Non-Exempt, O/T Eligible
Salary range: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Reports to: Division Supervisor
Summary/objective: This position works as a team player. Tasks will vary dependent upon need, and willingness to be flexible and adapt is necessary.
Essential functions:
Lead Dock Workers are responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving items to staging area using a forklift or pallet jack, ensuring items are packaged safely before shipping, inputting shipping information into computer system, logging any shortages or damages, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. Lead Dock Workersalso communicate regularly with the division supervisor, forklift operators, transportation staff, sales staff, and other staff essential to the process. Additionally, Lead Dock Workers assist in supervision of processes and staff.
Competency: Basic knowledge of warehouse procedures and operations is a plus. Verbal communication skills, computer skills, and critical thinking skills are key to being successful in this role. Reading and writing skills at least to eighth grade level.
Supervisory responsibilities: This position does not have any direct supervisory duties, however, individuals must possess leadership qualities.
Work environment: Duties will be performed in a standard warehouse environment, which will be subject to necessary rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies to ensure food safety and quality. This may include hot or cold temperatures to ensure optimum safety and production, excessively loud noises, and bright lighting.
Physical demands: Must be able to move freely about the warehouse environment. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs., bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to withstand working long periods in cold and hot temperatures.
Position type and expected hours of work: This position is scheduled for full time days (40 hours/week) with great opportunity for over-time, which is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Travel: No travel is required for this position; however, candidates must have reliable transportation to and from work to ensure punctual and consistent attendance.
Required education and experience: No education is required, but warehouse experience is a plus.
Preferred education and experience: Experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts is preferred. Spanish/English bilingual is not required but a plus.
