At 9pm on Thursday night we received an urgent call from one of our customers about an emergency SOS load needing to be picked up in the KC area. After quickly packing and canceling a few personal appts., Mat and I were on the road an hour later, Driving all through the night and all-day Friday, we arrived at the TI plant in Lehi, UT an hour sooner than expected, thereby avoiding a plant-wide shut down. We were made to feel like super-hero's, although we were just doing what we do best...because at Key Transport Solutions - service excellence is KEY!

And the bonus...we awoke this morning to a huge herd of elk by our truck and hot air balloons in front of the snowcapped mountains. How cool!

🚛 Join us in welcoming James Jeffries to the KTS Team! 👋

Mat and I are excited to announce that James Jeffries has joined KTS in the role of Driver Operations!

James brings over 35 years of trucking experience, both behind the wheel and in operations. His impressive career includes owning and operating his own truck, working in training, fleet maintenance, dispatch, and safety.

He began driving in 1989 and joined IWX Motor Freight in 1995 as a company driver. After several years, James purchased his own truck and later served as a CDL Training Instructor at Ozark Technical College. In 2011, he returned to IWX and eventually transitioned into an operations role, where he remained until the Springfield location closed in July 2025 while under new ownership.

Having worked closely with James at IWX, both Mat and I can confidently say he’s a true professional with a deep understanding of the industry and an incredible ability to connect with drivers.

As James settles into his new role, he’ll be taking on many daily operations tasks—including driver communications, load sourcing and dispatch, fuel card advances, and equipment maintenance tracking and scheduling.

We’re thrilled to have James on board and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make at KTS. Welcome to the team, James!

BRAKE SAFETY WEEK NEARS... August 24 - 30th... ARE YOU READY?

Brake Safety Week is an annual initiative organized by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), focusing on promoting brake safety among commercial vehicle drivers and operators.
Date: The 2025 Brake Safety Week is scheduled for August 24-30.

Focus: This year, the emphasis will be on brake drums and rotors, which are critical components of vehicle braking systems.

Inspections: CVSA-certified inspectors will conduct routine inspections, emphasizing the importance of brake maintenance and compliance with safety standards.

Awareness: The week aims to raise awareness about the risks associated with brake-related violations and the need for regular maintenance.

Please join us in congratulating Brandon H. for successfully passing a DOT Level 2 inspection! 💪

This is no small accomplishment — it takes focus, preparation, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance. We’re proud to have drivers like Brandon who go above and beyond to keep things running safely and smoothly out on the road.

As a thank-you, he is receiving a safety bonus, which will appear on the July 3 paycheck. 👏

🎉 KTS Just Turned 10! 🎉

June marked 10 years since we first hit the road — and what a ride it’s been!

We started with one truck and one driver, and over the years, we've grown into a small fleet of trucks and trailers, supported by an incredible team of reliable, safety-focused drivers. It's been tons of hard work, plenty of laughs, and yes — a few tears along the way — but we couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come.

A heartfelt thank you to the drivers who keep us rolling and to the customers who have trusted us and grown with us — you know who you are. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

And yes… the rumor is true:
Joan earned her CDL at age 61 — and she can now drive both 13-speed and 18-speed manual-shift semi-trucks. 😄 Living proof it’s never too late to learn something new!
