What does the most ultra-private, most exclusive island resort in Southeast Asia actually look like? This.

Amanpulo sits on Pamalican Island in the Philippines, in the Sulu Sea, accessible only by chartered flight from Manila. Here's what you can expect at one of the world's most exclusive addresses:

42 private casitas spread across the island, a house reef you can snorkel directly from the beach, dive sites with some of the most remarkable visibility and coral cover in Southeast Asia, and not a single day visitor in sight. The beach is yours, the schedule is yours, and the only transportation on the island is a golf cart.

This is one of the most exclusive trips I plan. Reach out if you'd like to be next.

If Japan is on your list, Kyoto is non-negotiable. And within Kyoto, so is this.

Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto opened on the site of the Mitsui family estate near Nijo Castle, and the grounds reflect that history. A natural hot spring runs below the property, and the onsen program is among the most considered in Kyoto. The pool, spa, and quiet of the gardens set this apart from most city hotel experiences in Japan.

The location works well for everything Kyoto offers. Nijo Castle is steps away, Arashiyama is within easy reach, and the Gion district is close enough for an evening without requiring a taxi.

There is no single best safari. There's only the one that fits how you travel.

The Big Five are still the reference point most people use, but safaris have come a long way. Conservation reserves, astro-safaris, gorilla trekking, water-based exploring, and destinations outside Africa entirely. The options are broader than most people realize, and the right one looks different for every traveler.

The destination, the camp, the timing, the style of guiding: every one of those decisions shapes how the trip actually feels, and none of them has a single right answer.

Not sure where to start? That's the most common place to begin this conversation. Reach out, and let's figure out your version of it.

Ready to experience Spain beyond Madrid and Barcelona? This is the property I keep circling back to.

Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine is in the Duero Valley of Castilla y León, about two hours from Madrid, and one of those regions that hasn't made it onto most Spain itineraries yet.

The estate covers nearly 1,800 acres; the vineyards produce some of the most decorated wines in the country; and the property's restaurant, Refectorio, has held a Michelin star for years.

What makes a stay here different: guests have access to the full estate. Vineyard walks, wine tastings with the winemaking team, and cellar visits that go well beyond what most hotel wine programs offer. The spa is built into the original 12th-century abbey structures, and the courtyard pool, flanked by stone walls and formal gardens, is among the best hotel pools in Spain.

Most people assume the work is done once a trip is confirmed. On my end, that's closer to when it begins.

After a booking is placed, I follow up with every property to confirm arrival details and communicate preferences. Preferred room assignments, dietary notes, occasion acknowledgments, and early check-in requests all go in at this stage, not as afterthoughts.

I track the booking through any itinerary changes. Flight times shift, connections get modified, and the downstream effects on transfers and hotel arrivals need to be caught before they become problems at the other end.

I stay in contact with suppliers in the weeks leading up to departure. For complex itineraries, that means multiple confirmations across properties, guides, and logistics contacts. Things confirmed in theory sometimes need to be confirmed in practice.

And I'm reachable during the trip itself. If something doesn't go as planned, a room isn't ready, a transfer doesn't show, a restaurant confirmation falls through, the first call isn't to a front desk. It's to me.

This is what working with a travel advisor actually looks like. If you'd like to experience it for your next trip, get in touch.

Some trips are worth doing properly. These are three of them.

Japan. The food culture alone makes it worth the flight. Add the precision of the hospitality, the range from Tokyo to Kyoto to the ski resorts of Hokkaido, and it becomes one of the most consistently excellent trips I design.

Safari. The wildlife, the guides, and the lodge experience at the top end of the market is something no nature documentary fully prepares you for.

The Maldives. The distance is real, the cost is real, and the experience tends to permanently reset what clients think a hotel stay can be.

Three different trips. The same result: clients who come home saying it was worth every dollar. Get in touch if any of these are on your list.

If a beach trip is on your mind, this one is worth a look.

St. Regis Punta Mita is on a private peninsula about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and the recognition speaks for itself: Forbes Four-Star, AAA Five Diamond, and ranked among the top resorts in Western Mexico by Condé Nast Traveler readers.

A few of my favorites: Bahia, the main restaurant, is one of the best dining experiences on the Riviera Nayarit with seafood pulled fresh from the Pacific daily. The two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses include the famous Tail of the Whale hole, an island green only accessible at low tide. And every villa comes with a dedicated butler.

Advisor Tip: Sayulita is 20 minutes away and worth an afternoon. Bohemian surf town, great tacos, a farmers market on Sundays.

If Mexico is on your calendar, reach out and let's start planning.

The pyramids of Giza are visible from the pool. Let that sink in for a second.

Built as a hunting lodge in 1869, Marriott Mena House has expanded and transformed over the following decades, and is now one of the most historically rich hotel experiences in the world. Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, and heads of state have all been guests.

The position at the foot of the Giza Plateau means early morning access to the site before the crowds arrive. A private sunrise at the Great Pyramid is one of the more reliable ways to shift how someone thinks about travel entirely.

Christian Louboutin's first hotel is in a tiny coastal village in Portugal that most people have never heard of. Very on brand.

Vermelho means red in Portuguese, and Louboutin's signature color shows up exactly where you'd expect it. Each of the 13 rooms is individually designed with antique furniture, hand-painted frescoes, and artwork from his personal collection.

It's a Relais & Châteaux property, and the restaurant Xtian, serving Alentejo cuisine on hand-thrown local tableware, is a big part of why.

The village of Melides itself is the quieter, less discovered neighbor of Comporta on the Alentejo coast. The beach is a ten-minute ride away; guests get there in Fiat 500s with red roofs.

This is the kind of property that books up fast. Message me to start planning!

Some of Norway's most spectacular coastlines have no road access. The only way to experience it is exactly like this.

Hurtigruten has been sailing from Bergen to Kirkenes since 1893, and nothing about the scenery has gotten old. The Lofoten Wall emerging from the sea. The Northern Lights appearing above the deck on a winter crossing.

Hurtigruten is so confident in the conditions that they'll give you a free voyage if the aurora doesn't show. An onboard expedition team that makes every port feel like an insider experience.

This is the trip clients come back from and immediately start telling people about. Let's get it on the calendar.
