💗🧠 TRIBUTE TUESDAY | HAPPY HEAVENLY 70TH BIRTHDAY, MOM! 🧠💗
Hey friends, Titia the NP here!
Today’s Morning Brain Minute is a little different. Today is personal. 💕
Today, October 20th, my beautiful mother, Venus, would have celebrated her 70th birthday. 🕊️💗
My mother was a nurse. She spent her life caring for others, but she also understood the importance of taking care of herself.
She never missed her physicals. She stayed on top of her health. She did the things we encourage people to do every single day.
And yet, at just 52 years old, my mother passed away from complications of acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
I think about that often.
As a nurse practitioner, I spend so much time educating people about prevention, early detection, and taking care of their bodies. But my mother’s story reminds me of something equally important:
You can do everything right and still get sick.
Preventive care matters. Screenings matter. Listening to your body matters. But none of those things comes with a guarantee.
And sometimes, life just isn’t fair.
But my mother was so much more than the illness that took her from us.
💗 She was a nurse.
💗 She was a mother.
💗 She was a sister.
💗 She was a grandmother.
She was Venus. ❤️
A woman who cared for others, loved her family, and left behind a legacy that continues through all of us.
AML may have taken her life at 52, but it will never define the life she lived.
I wish she were here to celebrate 70. I wish I could hear her voice, laugh with her, and make just one more memory.
But today, I choose to celebrate her LIFE, not just the illness that took her from us.
🧠 TUESDAY BRAIN HEALTH REMINDER: Memories are powerful. Looking at old photographs, sharing stories, and honoring the people we’ve lost can help us maintain meaningful emotional connections. Grief and gratitude can exist together, and it’s okay to feel both.
💕 TUESDAY CHALLENGE: Call someone you love. Take the picture. Make the memory. Share the story. And please, continue taking care of your health, even when life reminds us that we cannot control everything.
Happy heavenly 70th birthday, Mama Venus! 🕊️💗
You were only here for 52 years, but your love will last my lifetime.
I love you. I miss you. And I will carry you with me always.
Today, we celebrate the woman, not the disease. 💗
Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain.
