Good morning everyone, and happy Sunday!

Just a reminder that there is NO fly-in today, or this year for that matter.

We've been receiving many messages and emails still asking questions about the event as recently as yesterday; we don't want you to waste a trip to the airport for nothing.

Hi, Brad the airport manager here. Just to provide a bit more context, everyone here is a volunteer, myself included - no one collects a dime doing what they do here. Unless folks are retired, we all have full time jobs to make ends meet just like anyone else. The Fly-In was a second volunteer full time job to many folks. It required hours and hours every week all year long, procuring sponsorships, booking seminars and exhibitors, coordinating with town officials, vendors etc. That would often go along with a volunteer THIRD full time job of managing airport operations, daily maintenance and everything that goes along with running a non profit organization.

Last year, many of you may or not know Bill Thomas passed away, he was a huge part of helping to make the Fly-In each year. While many folks valiantly worked to fill in for what he did, replacing someone with as much knowledge, and frankly, free time was just too much to ask.

We love the Fly-In. We’re also thoroughly exhausted. We’ll be back, maybe not in the same form, but we’ll be back. Our hope is to do smaller events throughout the year to get back to grass roots aviation and education. Watch this space as we look to build what’s next!

Hello all - I'm sorry to announce that after much thought, consideration, and deliberation, the 2024 Simsbury Fly-In has been canceled. Over the coming months we'll be doing a lot of work in the background to work on bringing you another event (or events?) that you will be equally proud of attending.

Thank you ALL for the support you've shown our little community airport over the past many years and we'll hopefully see you again next year.

DAY OF GIVING - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27th.
Jersey Mike’s of Simsbury is one of our #1 Sponsors of the Simsbury Fly In…feeding more than 200+ volunteers. LET’ PAY IT BACK!

Hoping to raise a record-breaking amount for charity this year, Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, asks customers to eat a sub and help a local cause.

To celebrate the company’s Annual Day of Giving fundraising campaign, Jersey Mike’s locations across the country are joining forces with more than 200 local charities.

Customers will have the option to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate $1, $3, or $5 when placing their order. Charities include hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.

The campaign culminates with the nationwide event, Day of Giving, on Wednesday, March 27, when local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators will donate their resources and every single dollar that comes in to local charities.

At the first nationwide fundraiser in 2011, all of Jersey Mike’s 454 locations raised $600,000 for 66 charities. Since then, Jersey Mike’s annual Month of Giving has raised more than $88 million for local charities.

This March, Jersey Mike’s hopes to exceed last year’s record-breaking national fundraising total of $21 million and help local charities striving to fulfill their missions and make a difference.

“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales – every penny – goes to help a great local cause,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.

In each market, restaurant owners select charities that support local neighborhoods and build a stronger community.
