We are deeply saddened to hear that Catherine Ku**er De Witt, age 82, peacefully passed away in Tucson, AZ on October 24, 2022. Catherine is remembered by her large family for her pies, her homemade bread, her love for the outdoors, her sense of humor and contagious laughter.

Born in Milwaukee on October 9, 1940, to the late Milton F. and Elizabeth (Reiss) Ku**er, Catherine was the third of five children. She attended Saint Clement Church Elementary school, Sheboygan North High School, and College of St. Catherine in Saint Paul, MN. She returned to school, earning an accounting degree from Lakeland College in 1987. In her youth, she was active in Girl Scouts and loved trout fishing with her father.

During college summer vacation, she met Peter Allan De Witt. They married soon after her graduation and settled in Akron, Ohio where Catherine worked as a nurse before Ann was born. She had six more children—daughter Barb born in Ohio, Joan in Illinois, Peter and Elizabeth in California, and David and Robert born after they moved back to Sheboygan.

Catherine was an active member of Saint Clement church. While busy raising seven children, she was a fabulous baker, avid gardener, dedicated ocean snorkel diver, active cross-country skier, skilled tennis and racket ball player, and lifelong golfer. After retirement, Catherine and Peter moved to Tucson, AZ. She loved visits from their large extended family taking her eighteen grandchildren on desert hikes, bird watching, swimming, and playing Milwaukee Pig dice game. Catherine is preceded in death by husband Peter and sister Judith Jaeckels. She is survived by brother Martin (Cindy) Ku**er, sisters Elizabeth Ku**er and Anne (Darrel) Ku**er, seven children and 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial mass for Catherine will take place at Saint Clement Church, Sheboygan, WI on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10:30. Visitation is planned before the service from 9:30-10:30. In lieu of flowers consider honoring Catherine’s memory through a donation to a Catholic Charity of your choice. In Tucson, a funeral mass at St. Thomas the Apostle and Interment of Ashes at East Lawns Palm Cemetery will be held on January 21, 2023.

It is with deep sadness that we share news of the passing of Edith Patricia Neuses Reinhardt who had been the oldest living member of the Clemens and Anna Reiss family. May she rest in peace. Below is her obituary and the link to family photos shared by her son, Peter Reinhardt.

In Loving Memory:
Edith Patricia Neuses Reinhardt
May 23, 1921- July 21, 2020

It is with gratitude for a rich and well lived life that we announce the passing of Edith Patricia Neuses Reinhardt on July 21, 2020, at the age of 99 at Coachman Square in Woodbridge, CT. Pat finally relinquished her title as the oldest living member of the C. Reiss Family of Sheboygan Wisconsin.

Pat was born in Superior, Wisconsin in 1921 and grew up in Two Rivers Wisconsin. A bright and enthusiastic student, she went on to Mount Mary University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Pat met the love of her life Florian William (Bill) Reinhardt in Two Rivers and they were married in 1943 in Sharon, Pennsylvania. They moved to Cheyenne Wyoming and lived on the army base where Bill was enrolled in Officer Training.

After Bill was deployed to Papua New Guinea and the Philippines to fight in World War II, Pat returned to Two Rivers where their first child, Edith Patricia (Epie) was born in 1945.

After the war with Bill safely back in Two Rivers, they had their second child, William Arthur in 1947. After a number of other moves, they settled in Appleton where in 1955 their third child, Peter Allen was born. It was in Appleton that Pat and Bill made many lifelong friends. They relished their busy social life which included golf, tennis, bridge, and skiing. They were lifelong fans of the Green Bay Packers, and season ticket holders from 1959 through the ‘70s.

In 1960 Bill was transferred to Sheboygan and under Pat’s discipline and care the family continued to thrive. It was important to Pat that her three children be raised in the Catholic faith. Their custom built home showcased Pat’s creative design talents and their tennis court kept them both fit and active.

When Bill retired in 1984, they built a home on Green Lake. At 63, she helped Bill hang drywall! They played tennis and enjoyed every aspect of year-round lake life for more than 20 years. Pat loved shopping for designer deals and was always a fashionista. They enjoyed exploring new places in the U.S. and Europe. Pat continued to be an avid reader and embraced technology. Her animated cards and emails were interesting and sometimes head scratchers.

After Bill’s passing in 2005 Pat chose to move to Woodbridge CT. in 2007 to be near Peter and his wife Helen. It was there that she spent the remainder of her years. She made new friends, enjoyed puzzles and watching tennis on TV, and played bridge and solitaire on her computer. Peter and Helen were patient and supportive of her needs and included her in many of their outings and celebrations.

Pat was the youngest child of Richard and Edith Neuses. She is predeceased by her brother Richard Edmund Neuses Jr.,sister Elizabeth Jean Saunders, and niece Jean Anna. She is survived by her nephews Richard Emil Neuses (Marie), Mark Reinhardt, and niece Sandra Elizabeth Ross.

Pat will be missed by her children Epie Howard (late Richard, Atlanta), Will (Pat, Toronto), Peter (Helen, Woodbridge), grandchildren Rick, Todd, Brett, Giulia and Vanessa and great grandchildren Zach, Sarah, Greyson, Josh, Emily, Catherine and Thomas. She will finally be reunited with her beloved Bill.

Blue Harbor Resort, home of the 2020 Reiss Reunion, made the list! Have you made your reservations to gather with family on the shores of Lake Michigan?

Forget the beach. These stunning lakeside resorts offer top-of-the-line luxury and a certain type of tranquility you can’t get anywhere else.

It would be so great if each branch took on an event to help make our 2020 Reiss Reunion happen.

-People have stepped up to do Friday Registration and Sunday Brunch.

-Could we have a branch to organize the Friday dinner?

-Another for the Saturday dinner?

-How about a branch with some kids to do the Saturday kids night?

-The picnic is a fun one to organize and Three Men and a Grill is already reserved, the menu is easy...your branch can help set up and clean up, plan some games and make a few calls for drinks and ice cream.

-Which branch likes to be active? Saturday morning activities would be the perfect way to get involved.

Remember, we’ve done this before so you don’t have much to figure out. If you all want to attend another stellar Reiss Family Reunion NOW IS THE TIME TO STEP FORWARD. Discuss it with your family branch and make planning an event a fun part of the experience!
