The Fall colors are popping and so are the Guardians bats! It's October Baseball on the North Coast and the fans are contrasting Navy, White and Red with the russet, amber, and crimson landscape as is fairly typical for us this season when Cleveland is in the playoffs.

We have a cold front passing this weekend, but It's really been amazing here lately and truly a blessing to have an opportunity to get out on the trail during October!

Bike shuttles have slowed a bit with only a few more trips scheduled for this season as is normal now; however, if you are not planning a ride in Ohio over the next few days-you will wish you were as the forecast is looking pretty darn good for a fine wrap-up to an extraordinary month.

October is off to a spectacular beginning in the great state of Ohio! The past few days have been absolutely amazing and perhaps stellar! Cool days and bright sunshine is resonating very well with bicycle tourists traversing the OTET trail. The colors are now popping on the northern half and beginning a bit down south. The next 10 days or so should be amazing!

It's so exceptional right now that even Alan Weinstein (OTET Chief) is making the rounds and chatting up riders. He even dropped by to say hello to a few shuttle clients wrapping things up at the Newport Levee! It's really hard to find a more enthusiastic rider than Alan and having him drop by lifted everyone's spirits and generated many lasting and warm memories! SUPER COOL!

Alan was also handing out a few of the new "CONGRATS 326'R!" postcards that we will have on-hand for our clients now and moving into 2027. These cards have a QR code that allows riders to register their ride. If you purchase some OTET merchandise, you will get a complimentary 326 Club decal! That's pretty cool indeed.

If you have a chance to get out- TAKE IT. Don't pass up this October majesty as it's pretty darn amazing right now!

Someone turned the switch for "FALL" in Ohio. We moved from extreme heat to lows in the 40's this week creating some crispy mornings across our state. A few days of rain were part of this past week's program for most and the creeks and rivers were very high indeed.

Today, it is typical and stable across the state with rains expected to return as we roll into later week. As I create this post- It's a beautiful evening with Harvest Moon on the horizon! Looks like Fall in Ohio.

It's been another busy week launching and retrieving a few bicycle tourists and the excitement is very high! Folks are falling in love with Ohio and planning other visits. Some are returning for the second and third times. It's a good vibe with a few wanting to share their ride experience with other friends for another pass through the state!

For most of us locals, Fall is our favorite time and we are loving every minute of the season. Colors are just starting to become apparent on the northern end but all this rain should make for a delightfully pigmented atmosphere very soon.

September is winding down for us with a few remaining shuttles set-up for October. If you want to get out in October- We agree with you and can help!

It's been a predictably brisk week for us as we run up and down the I71 shuttle trail launching and retrieving some pretty happy visitors to the Great State of Ohio! It's been smiles all around and some very excited folks looking forward to touring this majestic state on two wheels.

The folks wrapping up are very well pleased and loving the diversity of experiences offered on this ride. We routinely hear praises about "Amish" country and a few folks are led to believe that the stretch between Fredericksburg and Dalton is a road detour when in fact that is just part of the "trail" experience.

I often ask retrievals what didn't go well or what didn't you like and really nothing of significance ever surfaces. Rather- it seems all good and positive!

It is harvest season in Ohio and many are taking in the local produce with enthusiasm! Nothing like Ohio sweet corn and a trip through Szalay's Farm Market in the Cuyahoga Valley is a must visit!

In other news- we do have a "bumper crop" of detours this season and that is a bit daunting. It's starting to become hard to keep track of it all but progress often carries a price and most of these situations are being managed very well by the bicycle tourists. It's part of the journey.

Weather conditions have been generally good with a little stormy mixed in here and there this week. Most are having a pretty good tour thus far with some rains passing overnight.

Next week is appearing a bit different so be sure that good rain gear is available and in order should it become necessary. There may be some turbulence and off/on stormy this coming week throughout the state. Temperatures are better though and that will be a pleasant break from the persistent heat we have been feeling.

We are ready for another busy week and look forward to being a small part of this Ohio experience.

Activity on the OTET indicates September is here! Cyclists seem to decide in unison to take a tour across Ohio over these next few weeks and it is an interesting experience every year for the shuttle.

Our weather certainly appears like September in Ohio as temps have moderated and conditions have settled over the last days. The future outlook appears generally consistent with seasonal expectations, so the good times will roll as usual.

We are busy enabling a few adventures for those seeking our help and it's been a great time chatting up our beautiful bike trail and the State of Ohio in general. Folks usually depart a shuttle with filled notepads and are ready to go! We often receive feedback on how our trail commentary added value and increased their tour satisfaction and that is why this job is fun!

Many new friendships develop on the shuttle, and folks share info on other trails and experiences that add value. We had one fella basically craft an entire itinerary for his upcoming GAP tour while chatting up another client in while riding in the shuttle.

We are glad to be part of a few Ohio cycling adventures during this active time and are here if a shuttle makes sense for you. There are a few opportunities to hop on and definitely look toward October as this is a great month in Ohio that is usually overlooked by most that seem to be convinced otherwise.

NOTE - It is a busy time so expect delayed responses during this period. Follow-up by end-of-day is my goal but keep in mind, if the shuttle van is on its route, phone/txt will be answered when its safe or appropriate to do so.

Stay safe, keep smiling and work through any difficulties encountered with a cool head and "can-do" positive attitude. It's just bike riding after all. Everything usually works out fine if you hang in there.

Happy Holiday Weekend to everyone! Our "labors" are, at least, enjoyable and add value to those who seek us out. We do have a good time rolling along the I71 shuttle trail and chatting on numerous topics - especially the OTET, our favorite topic! Our clients do depart in a better place after the shuttle than at entry and we take pride in adding a little substance to journeys in Ohio.

It was summertime in our state this past week and we hit a few highs we would rather have passed on. One launch at 97 degrees and one at 102 degrees at the riverfront over the last few days. Some of us handled it better than others and we had clients that took off and conquered 70+ miles while others bailed and took a day off only to continue later. One poor soul tangled with a trash can and ended his journey completely. It was indeed the "thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" for some this week. Very weird week for sure.

It was hot driving the shuttle to as the fan only goes so high and the heat seems to reach in through the windows with suffocating intensity. In addition, we experienced a lot of very bad behavior on the roads this past week that added to the bizarre vibe experienced. A few situations I have never seen before regarding truck traffic, road rage, etc. Everyone is OK but what a strange time.

It was a tough few days indeed. If you were out there-tell us how you worked through it.

Anyway, all that is behind us now and temps are back to normal as is everything else we are up to. We had some fantastic trips and are looking forward to the week ahead!

We did enjoy another fine encounter with our friends at OutSpoken E-bikes it’s always a pleasure when our paths cross. If you need a great e-bike for a pass on the trail. These guys rent top notch equipment. Maybe try one out as a rental if you are thinking it might be time to graduate over to an e bike. It might be a simple way to check it out before moving into ownership. The shuttle supports e-bikes and understands the many great use cases and solutions offered.

Another great trip (and great folks) in the books as August winds down for us. September bicycle madness in Ohio is upon us and our schedule is loading up quickly.

I always laugh when a rider calls to book a September trip and they think they have a new idea or plan to ride this particular month that no one else ever considered or thought of. Most of the time, our "original; thoughts" on most any topic are not really original as someone else likely considered it too.

Well, it's really no secret that September is a great time to be out and about in our beautiful state. It is a busy time, for sure, and we do our best to keep up. There are still a few slots available so please call to review thoughts if a shuttle makes sense for you.

Exceptional bike shuttle this week originating in my hometown of Akron Ohio-the former Rubber Capital of the World. I grew up just slightly south of Akron and most of my younger days were spent in and around this city.

It's a quiet but clean place these days and I did have a client, earlier this season, absolutely enamored with it and desiring to return to learn more.

Anyway, this is an old industrial city that was part of this country's Industrial Revolution. Many cross roads here. Today, visitors have many interesting things to see and do from a historical perspective and otherwise. We don't have space to go through all the details but do check it out as part of your journey in Ohio. . It's a great old city.

While in Akron, be sure to check in Berrodin Bed & Breakfast
This was my first chance to meet Louie, a friend of the shuttle, and it was a nice visit. His website is very detailed containing quite a bit of good information. He is an incredible local resource that can certainly add value to any visit to Akron. It appears the business has a charitable outlet as well so supporting it will do good things in this community. Seems like a great spot to spend a day or more if a B&B makes sense for you.

Riders on our beautiful trail were disrupted by a few severe storms passing through central Ohio early this week. A few of our clients. and likely others too, rode for cover or sought refuge along the route as these violent fronts passed.

The southern end of CBUS was hit particularly hard with what was reported to be a EF1 Tornado. A few other burgs were torn up pretty good too.

After working through the carnage in the areas affected, the ride was very good and many smiles and happy thoughts about Ohio ensued. Sometimes a little drama adds to the memories and most of the time everyone works through just fine. It's part of it and you just have to move forward.

Anyway, cheers to the final days of summer. Schools are starting up this coming week, and thoughts of Fall are on our minds. We have openings in September so if a bike shuttle makes sense for you, please call to review your ideas.

We welcome August with a few bike shuttles of course! A bit of stormy stuff passed through as is not uncommon this late summer season. Weather can be a bit hot and cranky and this year is no exception.

Whatever you are faced with-the best advice available is to JUST SEND IT. Work through it and everything typically works out fine. Sometimes when it's not perfect it's just right.

Thanks to Mr. Turner, our back-up shuttle driver, for managing the shuttle business this week as Zipi was on holiday with the family. It's great to have a good guy like him on your team! The clients seem to resonate well with him too as he is a seasoned cyclist traversing trails nationwide on a regular basis with many interesting stories and insights.

We did have a few exceptional groups this week that were tons of fun! Some even made up their own shirts for the occasion! The people and experiences are what make this job fun and we are blessed to have good clients that keep us motivated.
