Our beloved herb of the month is going to be: (drum roll please……)
LEMON BALM!
Now lemon balm is one of my very favorite herbs due to the exquisite taste/smell and its versatility! June will be the last month that our members are auto billed for the monthly healing boxes. We are going to keep making them but they will be available like any other product. We are doing this because people are canceling or they’re thinking they’ve cancelled and they still end up getting a box.
So when we announce our herb of the month you’ll have an option to buy it if it’s one you want
So let’s get into it then!
Lemon Balm: The Gentle Herb for Calm, Comfort & Restoration
This month’s healing box features one of nature’s most beloved calming herbs: Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis). With its bright, lemony aroma and long history of traditional use, lemon balm has earned a reputation as an herb that nourishes both the body and the spirit.
An Herb with Ancient Roots
For centuries, herbalists have turned to lemon balm to promote relaxation, uplift the mood, and soothe the nervous system. In fact, its botanical name, Melissa, comes from the Greek word for “honeybee,” as bees are naturally drawn to its fragrant leaves.
Traditional Uses of Lemon Balm
Supports Calm & Relaxation
Lemon balm is best known for its gentle calming properties. It has traditionally been used to:
Ease feelings of stress and tension
Encourage emotional balance
Promote a sense of peace and relaxation
Encourages Restful Sleep
Because it gently relaxes the nervous system, lemon balm is often enjoyed in the evening to support healthy sleep patterns and help quiet a busy mind.
Supports Digestive Comfort
Stress and digestion are closely connected. Traditionally, lemon balm has been used to:
Soothe occasional stomach upset
Ease nervous digestive discomfort
Promote healthy digestion after meals
Cognitive & Mood Support
Historically, herbalists believed lemon balm could “gladden the heart.” Modern interest in the herb continues to grow for its potential role in supporting focus, memory, and emotional wellness.
Rich in Protective Plant Compounds
Lemon balm contains naturally occurring antioxidants and beneficial plant constituents that help support the body’s overall wellness and resilience.

A Gentle Reminder
Herbs work best when used consistently and intentionally. Lemon balm isn’t designed to overpower the body. It gently invites the nervous system into a state of calm and restoration.
At Byond BeLeaf, we believe some of the most powerful remedies are also the gentlest. This beautiful herb reminds us that healing doesn’t always have to be forceful. Sometimes, it simply asks us to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to a place of peace.
