A question we hear from clients who have already done Tokyo and Kyoto: what does round two of Japan look like?

One of our favorite answers is Amanemu, Aman's hot spring resort on the Ise-Shima peninsula, a coastline of green coves and fishing villages a couple of hours southeast of Kyoto and Osaka. Every suite and villa has its own onsen bath fed by mineral-rich thermal springs, so you get Japan's beloved bathing ritual in complete privacy. No shared pools or second-guessing the etiquette.

Our favorite kind of recommendation? A resort so new your friends can't say they've been.

Ahãma just debuted on Günlüklü Bay, a protected cove on Türkiye's Turquoise Coast between the yacht town of Göcek and Fethiye, and it already carries the Relais & Châteaux badge. Zannier Île de Bendor opened just this May, so hardly anyone has experienced it yet. The whole island is yours to roam, seven minutes by boat from Bandol, reimagined as a completely car-free village with 93 rooms spread across three houses, each with its own personality.
