Xin Chao Magazine VISION: Connecting the Vietnamese culture to ourselves and to the world. MISSION: Providing a platfo What is the magazine about? We share stories of every kind!

Xin Chào magazine aims to connect the Vietnamese culture to ourselves and to the world by sharing stories of the Vietnamese-American experience. Our mission is to provide a platform to enrich the community and to inspire dialogue. What kind of stories do you feature? Every narrative has the potential to resonate with people; the more varied the narrative, the greater the possibility for connection

s to be made. We don’t focus on any particular topic, but rather, we draw out major themes in everyone’s respective experiences. Who runs the magazine? Xin Chào was started and operated by an independent group of community volunteers, most of whom are Vietnamese-Americans who come from all types of backgrounds and with multifaceted skillsets. We are driven by our desire to preserve our cultural perspective as told by Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese as a means to document our growth over the years. Can I join the team? Certainly! We are always looking to strengthen our team. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please contact us for further information. How do I contribute to the magazine (help, support, get involved, etc.)? There are many ways! Of course, the most effective and direct way is to make a donation to help with printing and distribution fees. Any amount would be appreciated. Also, please “Like” and/or “Share” Xin Chao’s page with your network. If you feel like you have a special skill or connection that may be beneficial to our cause, let us know too! Can I write for the magazine? Yes! One of the cool things about the magazine is that you don’t have to be an experienced writer. We are intentionally open to writers of all levels in order to give everyone a chance to share; the story is what’s important to us. Our team of editors can help you throughout the writing and editing process, from finding a unique angle at the start to its final draft. We also accept poetry and artwork as well. Can I advertise my business in the magazine? Yes. But because we focus on highlighting the stories first, there is a dedicated space in the magazine to thank our sponsors and supporters. We also extend our gratitude in greater detail via a customized Thank You message on our website as well as page and Instagram handles. Where does your funding come from? Funding consists of individual donations, business sponsorships, and we are actively seeking out grants. Our magazine production would not be possible without the generous patronage of supporters, so please contact us with if you’d like to contribute to our effort!

The XC Team (missing some members) had a potluck last Sunday to discuss feedback and thoughts from our XC by Night event.

We kind of hopped off track a bit discussing real-world issues such as feminism, Asian representation in Hollywood, gun laws, etc.

The diverse opinions in our group and variety of lenses through which we perceive issues is what makes this group super special, and there is never a dull moment.

Cheers to a successful event overall and moving forward to the 6th edition!
