🔋 Maintenance Monday
Is your battery trying to tell you something?

Before every trip, do a quick battery check:
• 🔧 Terminals clean & tight?
• 🔋 Voltage holding above 12.6V?
• ⚠️ No corrosion or white crust?

Bad batteries strand more boaters than bad fuel.

🛠️ Tip: Replace marine batteries every 3–5 years and disconnect them when storing your boat for long periods.

Need a battery test or replacement? I’ve got you.

🔧 Maintenance Tip 🔧
Did you know a clogged or dirty fuel/water separator is one of the most common causes of rough running or stalling outboards?

✅ Tip: Check and replace your fuel/water separator every 100 hours or at least once a season — especially if your boat sits for long periods or you run ethanol-blended fuel.

💡 A clean fuel system means smoother starts, better performance, and longer engine life.

Need help staying on top of it? Send me a message — I’ve got you covered.

🛠️ Maintenance Tip 🛠️

Check Your Anodes!
Anodes (aka sacrificial zincs) protect your outboard from corrosion, especially in saltwater. Over time, they wear down—and if they’re gone, your engine components are next.

✅ Inspect them every couple of months
⚙️ Replace when they’re 50% gone
💧 Use aluminum or zinc for saltwater, magnesium for freshwater

It’s a simple check that could save you thousands in repairs down the line.

👉 Not sure what to look for? I’ve got you covered. Send me a message or call/text Far Out Marine Service at 912-601-1202 to schedule a quick check-up or service.

🚨 Outboard Tech Tip Thursday 🚨
Is your Suzuki 115 or 140 not ejecting water the way it should? Here are a few things to look out for before it turns into a bigger issue:

🔧 Clogged Water Intake – Sand, debris, or seaweed can block the intakes. Always check your screens and flush regularly.

💦 Impeller Wear – A worn or damaged impeller won’t circulate cooling water effectively. These should be replaced annually or every 100 hours.

🌡️ Thermostat Issues – A stuck thermostat can cause overheating and poor water flow.

⚠️ Blown Head Gasket or Blockage – If your telltale is weak or erratic and you’ve ruled out the basics, it could be a sign of a deeper problem.

Not sure where to start? I’m here to help! At Far Out Marine, I’ll get your Suzuki running cool and clean again in no time.
