📈 The Georgia Ports Authority is reporting another strong month for Georgia’s supply chain, with the Port of Savannah setting a September record for container volumes.

Savannah moved 504,015 TEUs in September, up 3.7% from September 2025, bringing the port’s first quarter of FY2027 to more than 1.5 million TEUs, its second-best quarter on record. GPA notes that strong consumer spending and an extended peak season helped drive September’s growth, with import loads up 5.5% year over year.

The continued growth also highlights the importance of the infrastructure supporting cargo beyond the terminal. GPA’s ongoing $1.6 billion Ocean Terminal renovation, the recently opened Brampton Road Connector, and improvements in port fluidity are all aimed at preparing Savannah’s supply chain network for continued demand.

At the Port of Brunswick, heavy machinery volumes increased nearly 12% in September, with 3,754 RoRo units handled during the month. For industries moving heavy and complex equipment, having logistics capabilities that extend beyond the port can be critical to keeping projects and supply chains moving.

Power-equipment manufacturing is expanding across the Southeast—and the logistics network supporting it must be ready, too.

Recent investments in transformer, switchgear and gas-turbine manufacturing point to more highly engineered equipment moving between plants, ports and project sites.

The challenge is rarely one shipment. It is coordinating the handoffs, protecting the equipment and creating enough flexibility to accommodate changing project schedules.

Some projects carry more than history. They carry memories, faith, and a sense of home.

Following the ceiling collapse in 2025, Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church began the work of restoring its historic sanctuary and preparing to welcome its congregation home.

CLG was honored to play a small part in that effort, helping protect and preserve the church’s chandeliers during the renovation. Being trusted with these pieces of our own church’s history made this work especially meaningful to our team.

Now, the chandeliers have returned to Wesley Monumental for installation ahead of the October 18 reopening—a special moment as the church prepares to welcome its congregation home.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help care for a small piece of Wesley Monumental’s story and celebrate this new chapter alongside our church family. ⛪💙
