Ten years ago, I had the privilege of flying halfway across the world to Sevilla, Spain, to immerse myself in a language and culture that has forever altered my DNA. That year became more than just a study abroad experienceâit sparked an even deeper love for the Spanish language, taught me how tough I was, and showed me who I was from different angles. Transformative.
When the end of my 7 months in Sevilla came too quickly, it left an ache I didnât expect. The thought of leaving Spain, of leaving all those moments behind, stirred a longing I couldnât ignore. It was then that I knew I needed to return. Spain had become a part of me, as clichĂ© as it sounds, a place where I found pieces of myself I didnât even know I was searching for.
So, I made the decision to return the following year, to continue living in this love affair with a country. I found myself in Madrid for graduate school. It was there, in the heart of the bustling city, I met, the one. Fate had brought me across the ocean, and in the process, it brought me to the love of my life, my husband. The years since have been a whirlwindâ I pursued grad school, and I dove deeper into travel and education, teaching Spanish while always exploring new cultures.
Today, I thrive to empower you to take on your dream adventures, and I realize that my journey, both personal and professional, has always been about connectionâconnecting with language, with places, with experiences. The years I have spent in Spain didnât just lead me to a career in teaching Spanishâthey opened my eyes to the power of travel.
Those early days in Sevilla planted the seed for a life I never imaginedâone full of travel, wonder, and the joy of sharing the beauty of the world with others. Hereâs to 10 years of growth, love, and unforgettable experiences. đâ€ïžđȘđž
