🦉 Night owls, traveling to or from the airport? ✈️You can now enjoy more frequent nighttime service on bus 992. Starting September 6, 2026, service is increasing to every 15 minutes during daily operations (4:30–1 a.m.).

Taking transit this Labor Day? Heads up: bus and Trolley service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of the holiday.

Please note that MTS Administration offices will be closed. MTS Information & Trip Planning will remain available with modified hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Vintage Trolley will operate on Saturday, Sept. 5. Departs from 12th and Imperial Station every hour starting at 9:07 a.m.. Last trip 3:07 p.m. due to a Padres game.

🎒 NEW YEAR. NEW RIDE.

Getting to school, after-school activities, a part-time job or meeting up with friends just got easier. With the Youth Opportunity Pass, riders 18 and younger can get their own Youth PRONTO card and ride MTS for FREE.

You only need to register once. Once your student is signed up, they can keep riding free until they turn 19.

🚧 Construction is coming to Spring Street Station

Starting Sept. 14, the station’s parking lot will close for approximately two years. Please use Grossmont, Massachusetts Ave. or 70th Street Station to park and ride.

Here's what's happening at Spring Street Station — construction on a new transit-oriented development.

The development will consist of:

- 145 affordable apartment homes
- 159 transit parking spaces
- 53 resident parking spaces
- Bathroom for riders and staff

Starting Oct. 1, major fare changes will happen for the first time in more than 17 years. The changes will be introduced in two phases to help support transit operations and keep bus and Trolley service levels as high as possible.

Here’s what to expect on Oct. 1:

→ One-way (two-hour free transfers): $3

→ Day Pass (unlimited rides): $7

→ Monthly Pass (unlimited rides): $85

A second adjustment will take effect Oct. 1, 2027. Learn more at sdmts.com/FareChange

Eligible riders enrolled in CalFresh, Medi-Cal or CalWORKs may qualify for reduced fares through PRONTO LIFE.
