🏆 Last week, MTS received APTA’s 2026 Outstanding Public Transportation System Award, one of the transit industry’s highest honors!

The award recognizes MTS for excellence in safety, customer service, innovation, financial management and operations. In FY 2025, MTS provided more than 81 million passenger trips and recovered 95.2% of pre-pandemic ridership.

This achievement reflects the dedication of MTS employees and our commitment to safe, reliable and accessible transit throughout San Diego County.

Today is California Clean Air Day! 🌎

Every time you choose transit instead of driving, you’re helping reduce the number of cars on the road and the emissions they produce.

In one year, MTS riders helped reduce 97,000 metric tons of CO₂.

🚨 Reminder: Fare changes go into effect tomorrow, Oct. 1.

For the first time in more than 17 years, MTS fares are changing. Here’s what to expect:

→ One-way: $3, including two-hour free transfers
→ Day Pass: $7
→ Monthly Pass: $85

You may qualify for a reduced fare. Riders enrolled in CalFresh, Medi-Cal or CalWORKs may qualify for PRONTO LIFE, which offers a $2.50 one-way fare, $6 daily cap and $72 monthly cap.
