Night owls, this is for you 🌙✈️

The Metropolitan Transit System Route 992 takes you direct to SAN from Downtown San Diego—and it’s about to get even more convenient.

Beginning Sunday, September 6, evening service is increasing, with buses arriving every 15 minutes as part of a new initiative with the MTS and SANDAG - San Diego Association of Governments

More passengers are choosing transit to connect to their next destination, with ridership on the 992 up ⬆️ 58% since 2022.

Try it for yourself on one of SAN’s newly relocated bus stops at the departure-level roadway for a smooth airport to city journey.

Alaska Airlines is celebrating 40 years in San Diego with its 50th nonstop destination!

The new nonstop route from SAN to Loreto, Mexico, begins Dec. 19, giving you another option to Baja California Sur.

Two flights a week through April means more opportunities for a warm Baja getaway.

Happy 40th, Alaska! Here’s to destination No. 50 and counting! 🙌

SAN’s Ready, Pet, Go! therapy dogs regularly visit our terminals, offering travelers a chance to take a break, get some comfort, and, of course, enjoy a few well-deserved ear scratches.

SAN is receiving $15.3 million from the FAA for our Quieter Home Program to help reduce noise impacts in the communities surrounding the airport.

🤠 Delta Air Lines is adding daily nonstop service between SAN and Austin beginning April 12, 2027.

Delta joins Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines in offering nonstop service to Austin, giving travelers even more options to the Live Music Capital of the World.

The new route marks Delta’s first new market added from SAN since 2022.

We’re excited to welcome this added Austin route and the opportunities it brings for business, tourism and travel between two dynamic cities 🌆

🚧 Starting Monday, construction began on southbound Pacific Highway approaching Sassafras Street, near the SAN Rental Car Center.

What to expect:
• Traffic tapering from 3 lanes to 2
• Left turns onto Sassafras Street will remain available
• Construction for approximately 2 weeks
• Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m.*
• Intermittent construction noise
• Temporary lane shift near Pacific Highway and Sassafras Street

Please slow down, use caution, and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

An update from some of SAN's tiny travelers 🐥

This nesting season, two California Least Tern chicks have hatched and are practicing taking short flights!

Each year, the Airport Authority's environmental staff partners with biologists to carefully maintain, protect and monitor these spaces to encourage their return.

Every new flight is worth celebrating, both in the sky and on the ground!

🌵The SANset Margarita from our SAN Summer Sips lineup is for the gastronomically adventurous.

The prickly pear cactus is the main character of this drink with its sweet flavor and pink hue, but don’t worry – it won’t sting.

Get it at Tony Hawk’s ‘Novecientos Grados’ or SIPS in Terminal 1, where the tequila adds a final punch to this limited-time margarita.
