I’ve been to Rome more times than I can count, and it truly is the Eternal City. No matter how often I return, there’s always something new to discover — a hidden piazza, a quiet church, or a charming little café tucked down an alley I’d never noticed before. Walking past the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Roman Forum still feels magical every single time, as if history itself is welcoming me back. The golden light at sunset, the sound of church bells, and the hum of life in the streets remind me why I keep coming back.
But Rome isn’t just about monuments — it’s about the rhythm of everyday life. I love sipping espresso at a corner café, tossing another coin into the Trevi Fountain just to ensure I’ll return, and lingering over plates of fresh pasta in Trastevere under a canopy of twinkling lights. Each visit feels like coming home to a place that somehow grows more beautiful and unforgettable with every trip.

Siena, Italy — A Tuscan Treasure
There’s something about Siena that makes time feel different; it's one of my favorite Italian cities. Maybe it’s the way sunlight spills over terracotta rooftops, painting the city in shades of gold. Or perhaps it’s the rhythm of the streets — narrow cobblestone lanes that twist and turn, revealing hidden trattorias and little artisan shops where the scent of fresh leather and espresso drifts through the air.
At the heart of it all lies Piazza del Campo, a shell-shaped square that seems to gather every ounce of Siena’s energy. Here, locals linger over coffee, children chase pigeons, and visitors simply sit in awe of the medieval architecture surrounding them. Twice a year, the famous Palio horse race transforms this peaceful space into a roaring spectacle of color and tradition — but even on a quiet day, the square hums with history.
Then there’s the Duomo di Siena, an architectural masterpiece in black and white marble. Step inside and you’ll be surrounded by intricate mosaics, sculptures by Michelangelo, and a ceiling painted deep blue with golden stars. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just look — you feel.
And if you’re up for a climb, the Torre del Mangia offers a reward like no other: a panoramic view of Siena that stretches out across rolling Tuscan hills. Standing there, with vineyards and olive groves as far as the eye can see, you realize Siena isn’t just a city — it’s a moment in time you’ll carry forever.
Have you ever been to Siena? What was your favorite corner of this medieval gem?

Just had an amazing time hiking at Fish Creek Falls near Steamboat Springs! This 283-foot waterfall is absolutely stunning and such a perfect escape into nature.
The trail starts with an easy, stroller- and wheelchair-friendly path to an overlook of the Lower Falls — the view is gorgeous! If you're up for more adventure, the trail continues past the overlook and gets a bit rocky and steep as you head toward Upper Fish Creek Falls. Totally worth the effort for the scenery!
In the winter, this place turns into a snowshoeing wonderland. No matter the season, it’s a beautiful spot to explore. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Travel Back Thursdays - Weekend getaways are the best! Had a blast in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho — spent some time shopping at my favorite western store and even made it over to the Newport, Washington rodeo. Picked up a new painting for the house and squeezed in a little s***t shooting, too. On the way home stopped at White's Boots in Spokane to pick up a custom-made pair of laced packers for horse riding. Nothing like a mix of rodeo, retail therapy, and target practice to recharge!

Some of my favorite mosaic flooring made throughout the Roman Republic and later Empire are in Ephesus, Turkey. This is specifically true in the Terrace Houses of Ephesus. There’s an extra charge to tour these apartments, it’s so worth it. Here are some of my favorite mosaic shots from my most recent trip to Turkey. Oh, by the way, I can send you here on a vacation you will never forget!
