Deep in the wilderness of Borneo is one of the world's largest cave systems in the world featuring massive underground chambers and incredible limestone formations. Key show caves—Deer, Lang, Clearwater, and Wind—are accessible via guided tours, offering highlights like massive bat exoduses, underground rivers, and unique biodiversity.
There isn't much info online about visiting Mulu National Park so we are here to share firsthand!
1. There are a few levels of caves and in order to do advanced caves you must pass an intermediate cave first. Showcaves are the most accessible for all levels. Reservations should be made on the first day at the park HQ.
2. You can stay at the national park or you can stay at a Marriott Mulu that is located really close by.
3. Getting here, you will need to fly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and then take a flight to Miri and then onward to Mulu.
4. Right across the bridge from the Marriott there is a local restaurant- eat there and try the homemade rice wine!
5. Enjoy being in one of the most remote places on earth! Boats are the main form of transportation around the park as there aren't very many roads.
