WHO IS the "Friends of San Bruno Vision Framework"
MISSION: To support projects that comport with the spirit of intent, visionary goals and priorities of the San Bruno Transit Corridor Plan (TCP) Vision & Development Frameworks. BACKGROUND: San Bruno's local Measure N passed with 68% approval in 2014. because the voting public was largely convinced of the guiding principles that underlie the Vi
sion and Development Framework as described in our Transit Corridor Plan. Measure N relaxed height limits within our Central Corridor allowing us to create a dynamic, new village center for San Bruno's Future - one that approves projects and infrastructure that leverages proximity to transit hubs such as CalTrain and BART and a pedestrian-oriented Main Street - San Mateo Ave - our downtown village center. WE BELIEVE: Each proposed project should be held up to comport with the Vision Framework of the TCP and only gain approval if it comports with the highest standards of sustainable land use goals and priorities expected of that exact geographically-defined area whose leveraged proximity to transit hubs (ie.CalTrain Station, SamTrans, BART) and the pedestrian-oriented shopping/residential district is paramount. And if a proposed project or infrastructure component does not "fit" with the stated, sustainable land use policy guidelines, visionary goals and priorities of the TCP Vision Framework then that particular project should be rejected for the TCP's geographically-defined area. BRAGGING RIGHTS: San Bruno received top honors in 2016. There were seventeen (17) Bay Area projects nominated for this top honor and ONLY TWO won! San Bruno is THE recipient of the Grand Boulevard Initiative 10-Year Legacy Award for a VISIONARY Transit Corridor Plan. LET'S DO THIS THING: Congratulations are in order - Hooray! Our town won an award for our VISIONARY San Bruno Transit Corridor Plan. Thank you to all the community stakeholders and civic leadership who contributed to this success! Therefore, we are excited to support our Civic Leadership as they make accordingly visionary choices to review and approve (or deny) proposed new developments in the TCP! GROUP ADMINISTRATOR is Callista Shepherd Smith; who lives with her husband, Scott, their little dog, two cats and three egg-laying hens in Huntington Park of San Bruno. Callista and Scott are lifetime members of the Sierra Club - Loma Prieta Chapter.
