I know many of you are home for the Holidays. My family and I are in dire need of help through every driver's eyes who are still gear jamming.

A huge part of our family was abducted 12/23 in between Austin and San Antonio TX by this man. He is Edward "Eddie" Hines, and his 17 yr old son, Tyler. Eddie is a convicted child predator. He wants his 18 year old daughter, my wife's niece.

They were last spotted in Oklahoma city. We believe they think he daughter is, which she is not. She is now in protective custody, elsewhere.

People being held are Clarence Rolker, his pregnant fiance Sasha, both are disabled vets, and Sasha's dad, John,

They are at extreme risk. Last seen driving a Blue 2016 Dodge Caravan with Tennessee plates.

EVERY law enforcement agency in the country is looking for them but we need driver's eyes.

Please help us bring our family home.

It's been a rough couple of weeks..
After we got the truck through its Mercer DOT inspection, got dispatched on first load, 200 miles in we spun the number 4 rod bearing, shelling the motor.
19,000 dollars later, we have a repaired truck, as well as an upgraded transmission and are, once again, back in Louisville to pick up a trailer.
Knock on wood, but we think we have all the major gremlins out now.

Things left to do to this truck in the next 6 months.

4 new drive tires (to replace recaps)
Have U-joints replaced in both drive shafts.
Replace airbags and torque arms plus alignment
The new engine was from a truck with no switches for engine brake, 100k on a fresh rebuild, but engine brake was never adjusted in, so it's going to need an overhead
Replace hood latch cables.

Then, once all of that is done, we can think about re gearing the chunks for better fuel mileage.

Akita Trucking is in the process of switching over to Mercer Transportation. Took a week or so to get the new (to us) truck ready to ride but, today, Kris, Troy, Kyoko, and Hachiko are sitting in Louisville KY to go through Mercer's contractor orientation for the next few days. Stay tuned for updates.

Requirements: minimum 4 years or driving. Routinely drive 500 to 600 miles a drive shift.
Live in Texas ( health benefits reasons)
Clean MVR and DAC.
Compensation: 750.00 a week salary prorated for hometime.
Benefits 30 days after hire.
Evaluation of salary based on performance 30 days after start and every 90 days after.

Must clear Cherokee National's background check.

Akita Trucking has been told by Cherokee National that to continue using their fuel card, we now have to fuel at the fuel stops they choose.
Issue: Cherokee National buys their fuel from said truck k stop chain at a volume discount usually well below national average price. They then charge pump price minus .15 per gallon to the O/O putting anywhere between twenty to thirty cents a gallon that, ethically, should be passed on to the driver.
Example: if Cherokee National bought 10,000 gallons of diesel this week at $2.50 a gallon. If I fueled with their card today, it would have cost me $3.03 a gallon, after their. 15 discount,for the 85 gallons they already prepaid for this week at 2.50 a gallon. So they would be pocketing fifty three cents a gallon on my 85 gallon purchase or around $45 bucks.

Not so long ago, Celadon, another major trucking company was sued by some of the Owner/operators leased on to them for THE SAME EXACT THING. Celadon lost. The o/o's were awarded 3.8 million for the fuel rebate skimming, and another 1.5 million on interest. Celadon tried to appeal and lost again.

The court cited that the o/o fuel cost should be no more than the negotiated price Celadon got for their company trucks as it all was coming from the same bulk fuel purchase.

Tread carefully, Cherokee National. You are in dangerous waters.

Public Safety Message for this holiday weekend. Stay out of the No-Zone.
Pay attention to the trucks around you. Not everyone gets a three day holiday weekend. Freight still has to be moved.
Use your signals and communicate your intentions.
Everyone have a safe weekend. Don't text and drive. Don't drink and drive.
