Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug 🐛 We had a solid cook (in the rain) today in Derby, and were happy with the meats we turned in.
However, the judges weren't quite on our side. Our results from Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Fest are :
12th Chicken
29th ribs
14th Pork
34th Brisket
28th out of 36 teams

Olivia got 4th out of 10 kids last night in Kids Que 🍔

Don't let the lights fool you — Piggie Smalls is all business when the smokers fire up. Caught him this morning posted up with his signature brew in a Lucky D’s pint, mentally prepping for another day of smokin’ and winnin’.

What an incredible weekend at the Big Blue River Days!

3rd place chicken 🐔
4th place brisket 🐄
8th place pork 🐖
21st place ribs 🐖
8th place out of 29 teams

The grill was hot, the competition was fierce, and the flavor was ON POINT! Congrats to the GC, Damn Fine Beef & Swine, the RGC, The Smoking Hillls, and all those that heard their name called.

Olivia competed in her first Kids Que on Friday night, with bacon cheeseburger sliders, and ended up getting 1st out of 10 kids! We are so proud of her. 🍔 🍔

Thanks to Allie Argo & her team for organizing one of the best & our favorite contests in the KCBS!

Already counting down to the next contest – but for now, we’re gonna bask in the BBQ glory and maybe take a nap after all that meat! 😅🍖

Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Fest has always been my favorite contest to cook. We are so happy we got to come down to Derby this year.
We aren't coming home empty handed either!

Contest #2 for this month! It's been a while since we've done back to back contests. Last weekend in Marysville taught us a lot and helped knocked the rust off. Now for the Derby contest!
