Happy Birthday to one of our favorite customers!
After delivering kindling to the lovely Loretta McPherson yesterday, Sam came home with not only a very generous tip, but also these handmade beanies to keep him and his baby sister warm!

I just wanted to tell you all how excited I am for cooler weather, the World Series, Halloween and of course the return of Sam's Kindlin!

See my ad on Chico Craigslist:

My name is Sam and I am selling kindling for starting your next cozy fire. My dad and I cut and split the wood. It has been seasoned over the summer and is ready to light. Build a teepee or log cabin

Just peeked in the wood shed and noticed Sam's got 7 or 8 bundles of kindling ready to go in case anyone wants to stock up for The Great Blizzard of 2018. πŸ˜‰

Hi everyone, this is Sam. I have a new product to launch ... Kindling Bits! These are all the pieces that are too little to fit in pretty bundles, and you may find a nail or two, but there is a lot of wood in these buckets, and the tiny pieces make it really easy to start a fire. Your first bucket is $6, and if you bring the bucket back for me to reuse, then your next bucket is only $5.

The Holden Family Wood Shop has been a BUSY place! We're getting ready for the Multi Vendor Party TOMORROW NIGHT (Friday) at Sierra Hall in Paradise 5:00-9:00pm. I just had to take a minute to post a few of our creations that we'll be offering there. We won't have a lot, but if something catches your eye, let us know and we can have it ready for you the next time you pick up your kindling. :) I'll post some pics of our shutters and arrows later today!

You may have noticed Sam's page has been a little quiet ... That's because he has been working HARD to fill some BIG orders! Brian in Yuba City ordered 10 bundles, and then Wendy in Red Bluff ordered 18!!! It's been fun to see both his excitement that business is booming, and his perseverance when running a business is just plain WORK (and the weather doesn't always cooperate!) Thank you again to all our customers, we are thankful for you!

Thanks to everyone's support Sam got so many orders for kindling that we realized we needed to step up production! Monday night we all worked together to help Sam build up some inventory and cover his orders for the week. Oh. My. Goodness. I did not realize how much WORK it was! His next purchase will be a new hatchet for sure. And making those neat little bundles definitely takes some skill. I should have set up the video camera to catch all the times I had a bundle *almost* ready and then the thing burst all over the place. I definitely got a new respect for the amount of care and just plain work this little guy is putting into his product!

Sam made his first purchase with his earnings! You'll never guess what he bought. ;) (It may have been that employee's first time ever being asked by a 10 year old, "Where would I find the sisal?")
