The author was born in 1933 and had a difficult early life and was abandoned by his father at age fourteen. He often sold his blood to help support himself and a broken hearted mother. There was little direction in his life until the chance event of an illegal solo flight in a Piper J-3 Cub in the year 1950 giving his life a new direction. He knew from the moment he first touched the controls that becoming a pilot would be his only goal in life. After some disappointing setbacks in his early career, a lifetime in aviation followed with sixty three years of flying famous celebrities and world leaders in over a hundred different types of airplanes and helicopters. He is still an active pilot in retirement at the age of 80 and is a new member of the (UFO)United Flying Octogenerians. The UFO is an international, non-profit organization with members in the United States including the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Argentina, Australia, France, and the United Kingdom with over 1,400 members.
