When shipping a saddle in for repair, be sure to use a double walled, or Heavy Duty, box.

These boxes from Lowe’s are great size for shipping saddles but the slightly more expensive heavy duty version is the one you want! They can easily withstand getting tossed around throughout the delivery process and can often be reused multiple times.

Thankfully this client did an excellent job with packing materials and no harm was done to the saddle. Since it came in for a tree adjustment, the panels were dropped and a full tree inspection was performed anyhow, but had it been sent in for a different repair where I do not include a full inspection, this client would be would be facing additional costs.

A good saddle is a big investment, and becoming increasing more expensive to replace, so protect it well!
