At MCDOT, weβre always keeping an eye on the best ways to maintain and extend the life of nearly 2,500 miles of County roads using different pavement preservation methods. π§
But eventually, every road reaches the end of the line β and no quick fix can bring it back. Thatβs when itβs time for a full pavement replacement.
First, crews remove the old roadway through a process called milling, digging out the worn asphalt and base materials.
Then, brand-new asphaltic concrete is installed, giving the road a fresh start and many more years of life ahead. π£οΈπͺ
