With recent heavy rain and river warnings across parts of Central Illinois, now’s a good reminder that river conditions can change quickly this time of year.
Higher water levels, stronger currents, floating debris, and changing navigation conditions can all impact your time on the Illinois River. Boaters should stay alert, slow down when needed, and always keep safety top of mind while on the water. Recent advisories have also encouraged extra caution around debris, bridge clearances, and wake control during periods of elevated river levels.
At National Marine, we’re here to help you stay ready for the season with boat service, inspections, maintenance, and rental safety briefings designed to help make your river days safer and more enjoyable.
The river can still be enjoyed — just make sure you're prepared before heading out. ☀️
