That cold white stuff is about to fall again!!! Ryde taxi is here to get you where you need to go safely. please understand when the weather is bad, we want to make sure we get to you and get you to your destination safely that may mean that we drive slower and more cautiously. Please BEAR WITH US be patient and give yourself plenty of time to get to where you need to be.

FUN FACTS TUESDAY:
Did you know that London cab drivers must learn 320 routes through 25,000 streets off by heart in order to operate a taxi? It’s called “The Knowledge” test.
London cab drivers study THIS ENTIRE MAP to pass the “Knowledge” test.
Aside from a couple of hundred routes, they also have to memorize 20,000 landmarks such as museums, parks, churches, schools, and other tourist spots. They have to shove all of this information completely by memory. For that reason, it usually takes 2-4 years of studying, screening and other forms of tests just for a taxi driver to be licensed.

So, if you’re going around London by a cab, don’t be too harsh on your driver.

did you know the term “taxicab” comes from a combination of taximeter and cabriolet. The term “taxi” originated from the French word “taximètre,” referring to the meter used to calculate fares in early taxicabs. The word eventually became synonymous with the service itself.

We have decided this Holiday season to give our employees a break to enjoy the merriness of the season with their families. December 25th, Christmas Day Ryde taxi will be closed. We will resume business as always December 26th at 5am.
