Jamie McKay runs a 2,100-vehicle fleet at Aptive, and she doesn't want vendors who are just vendors, she wants the ones who'll "move mountains" for her.

We hear that. The partners worth keeping are the ones who deliver when things get tough ⛰️

How she runs a fleet that size is worth the read. Check it out.

Jamie McKay went from working in the rental sector to building a fleet program from scratch at Aptive Pest Control.

When two fleet leaders like Kathryn Schifferle and Lori Olson talk about where the industry is headed, it's worth stopping to read.

Olson gets at where technology fits, without replacing the people doing the work, and Schifferle's advice to women in the industry is about as honest as it gets.

Good read from Automotive Fleet Magazine, and great to see women leading the conversation in this industry.

We’re halfway through 2026, and fleets are still feeling a lot of the same pressure they started the year with.

Costs are up, capacity is tight, labor gaps are not getting any easier.

And when things get busy, it becomes pretty clear who you can count on.

That’s what we keep seeing. Fleets are leaning on partners who already know their operation, communicate quickly, and can take the transport piece off their plate without making it more complicated.

Because when something needs to move, you don’t want to start from scratch. You want someone who knows what they’re doing and gets it done.

The relationships you build before things get hectic are the ones that help carry you through it.

For the fleet teams out there, where are you feeling the most pressure this year? And what has actually helped make it easier?

National Logistics Day is a great time to recognize the people in this industry who keep things moving.

When a load needs to get covered, a timeline changes, or something goes sideways, it takes real people making calls, solving problems, and keeping everyone updated along the way. That kind of reliability matters, and it’s something we appreciate every day.

To everyone who does this work, thank you.🙏

Automotive Fleet Magazine shared insights from industry leaders on how pandemic-era lessons are shaping smarter, more agile fleet strategies.

It’s a reminder that the best strategies don’t just come from planning ahead. They also come from paying attention to what we’ve already lived through.

A few takeaways stood out to us:
• Greater flexibility in supplier and vendor relationships
• More proactive decision-making through telematics and real-time data
• Renewed investment in driver safety, support, and retention
• Financial strategies built to account for the unexpected

We’ve seen firsthand how important adaptability is in this industry. The pandemic sharpened systems, strengthened relationships, and reinforced what has always mattered most: clear communication, dependable service, and the ability to help clients navigate what’s next.

AI is reshaping trucking, an we're paying close attention.

Heavy Duty Trucking magazine breaks it down well in this piece: from back-office automation to predictive maintenance to cargo security, artificial intelligence is moving from buzzword to operational reality across the industry.

Here's our take on it:

There's real value in using technology to reduce repetitive tasks, improve response times, and catch things humans might miss at scale. We've seen how automation creates efficiency in logistics workflows, and we're not standing still on that front.

But in vehicle logistics, the stakes of getting it wrong are real. A move that falls through, a carrier that wasn't properly vetted, a client left without answers; no algorithm can fix that. What fixes that is a person who knows the account, knows the carrier, and knows how to make the call.

Our approach has always been to use technology to support the team, never to replace the judgment that comes from experience and relationships. The two aren't at odds. But the human piece has to lead.

This industry is evolving fast. The operations that will come out ahead are the ones who embrace the tools without losing what makes them good at what they do.

📖 Worth reading for anyone in trucking or fleet logistics:

Trucking’s biggest technology shifts in 2026 have one thing in common: artificial intelligence.

May 12–14 is DOT Inspection Blitz Week, 72 hours of rigorous CVSA inspections on commercial vehicles across North America.

It matters, because safer roads benefit everyone, but it also means:

• Tighter capacity as some drivers temporarily park
• Possible delays as inspections run their course
• Higher spot market rates with carrier supply down
• Disruptions to routing guide compliance, especially mid-range hauls
• Nationwide impact across carriers and shippers
• A gradual return to normal, with some lingering effects on capacity

Our team is already planning around it. If your transport is affected, we'll tell you before you have to ask, and we'll keep it moving.

After seeing Lego's new smart brick at CES, Lauren Fletcher imagines a Lego fleet truck where each "brick" is a plug-in for diagnostics, safety systems, GPS, weather detection... you name it.

We love her thinking here. It's playful, and it's a sharp lens on where connected fleet tech is headed. Building systems that are:

- Modular: easy to scale, update, or fix
- Smart: they flag problems before they cost you
- Connected: so dispatch, drivers, and customers stay in sync

Because when tech fails and delivery lags, vehicles sit and deadlines slip. That's why we focus on communication, so logistics feels simple, even when it isn't.

LEGO unveiled a SMART Brick at CES and it sparked a fleet nerd rabbit hole. What if work trucks were built like LEGO, with modular smart tech you can swap fast?
