Day 10:

We lounged in the morning then decided to book a hotel closer to the airport to save drive time in the morning. We drove to Jaco beach and had dinner. We turned in early.

We explored the tide pools.

Caleb met some locals going out spear fishing and joined them haha 😆

We went up the road for dinner. There was live music. Tenley ordered seafood soup!! 😱

Day 8:

We spent the morning swimming in the pool and went into Sámara to look at the shops.

A man scaled a palm tree to get my mom a fresh coconut. He found a vine snake in the tree and flung it down haha.

The girls chose hand made jewelry from a vendor at the beach.

Caleb and I went into Nicoya for our friends wedding. It was really something! The culture was so fun! I could make a whole post about the wedding! ✨

We took a four hour drive up to Arenal Volcano. It was a beautiful drive!

We stopped at a local restaurant on the way.

We went to the Mistico hanging bridges. lt was an amazing experience! 🤩

We got rained on during our hike. It was so fun!

Day 6:

Truly a wonderful day!!!

The monkeys have become our 5am alarm clock which gives us plenty of opportunity to have sunrise coffee in the hammocks. The kids love that we let them have coffee with us here 🫣

We had an iguana encounter on our patio. We have him some fruit rinds.

Caleb found a scorpion and we had a lesson about the threats they pose and how to avoid getting stung by one.

We traveled to Hojancha today. It’s a town we fell in love with the first time we traveled to Costa Rica. It’s a very scenic country drive.

Of course we had to stop by and visit Casa Montaña y Paz. Karolina left the keys for us in a hiding place, but we couldn’t figure out the gate lock. So we left the car at the bottom and went up 😆

We spent time reminiscing on our past stay at this house and enjoying the beautiful views.

We went into town and had some chicharrones and ice cream. There were children practicing for the upcoming festival. We stopped at an outdoor gym and played around. Caleb found a very cool frog!

We went off the beaten path a bit on the way back and ended up needing the 4 wheel drive 😂

Once we got back to Sámara, we stopped in at the butcher and Caleb grilled steak and veggies for dinner.
