My first baby is graduating 8th grade and heading to high school.

Excuse me while I absolutely spiral. 😭

I don’t know how the kid who made me a mom is now old enough to be a freshman.

They really mean it when they say don’t blink.

I’m so proud of the young man you are becoming become. Smart, hardworking, determined, and somehow still growing every time I look at you… still trying to process how the fact that you now tower over me.

Now if everyone could stop growing up for five minutes, that would be great. 😭😂❤️

Joeys nicu stay was a traumatic/difficult time for me so I tucked these pictures the nurses took/gave me away in one of his drawers for a day id be able to look at them and smile.

I was putting his laundry away tonight and it was a night i could finally look at them and smile.

Back then, i was TERRIFIED. Having a baby in the nicu without any timeline of when he could come home or what was even happening was so scary. After 3 healthy babies, this was so new to me. I spent my days a wreck and hovering over him waiting to bring him home.

I almost forgot about this moment. The nicu had some reading event/month going on and they came in and asked if I’d like for him to have a onesie and take some pics as a “book worm”. I figured why not.

I am forever grateful for the tufts nicu nurses for this moment. If it wasn’t for them, i wouldn’t have these moments with Joey. “Normal” moments a mom should have with her newborn. I was too much of a wreck that i have MINIMAL pictures with Joey in his first days. But I have these. ❤️
