I started this piece the night that George Floyd protests erupted and finished it last night during the debate. My personal take is: We have to find a way to beat this guy. A lot of us can’t stand 4 more years of this.

November 2018 to November 2019 marks one year of me drawing. A lot can change in just one year. I wanted to make a meme post about my progress. I’m not saying I hate what I did before because I don’t. What I see the art journey I’ve been on and I’m realizing it’s more about the progress and not the product and I’m happy I’ve come this far. I really really wanted to do amazing things from the very start but patience is the best teacher and it’s gotten me the better results.

Do one thing and do it often so you can do it well.

I’ve had amazing support so I recognize that and I’m thankful. I’ve also encountered hate from strangers but something seldom talked about is that hate came come from closests people. My art progress has taken me to ask “why do I art” when sometimes : old friends show no support, relationships don’t participate in your art but then want “stuff” from you, you’re not as good as what you want to be, and everyone else’s stuff is built better. The “why do I art” in spite of that is hard to grasp. This first year I learned so much and my first “jab” at an answer is to do art for the journey. Because it feels good to see change.
