Elon Musk says Tesla will build 50,000 semis annually starting in 2024, making it a top truck company.

"And these would sell, I don't want to say the exact prices, but they're much more than a passenger vehicle," Musk said.
Exact pricing for the Semi is no longer listed on Tesla's website, but it had previously been advertised at $180,000 for a truck with a 500-mile range between charges.
Musk reconfirmed that the range rating was for a Semi pulling a trailer at the maximum combined 82,000-pound weight allowed by law.

The Semi is expected to be built at Tesla's factory in Sparks, Nevada, where it currently manufactures electric motors and battery packs, according to insider reports.

Attention truckers: avoid these common DOT violations to keep your fleet safe and compliant!

We understand the challenges of the road, but staying DOT compliant is crucial for your safety and the safety of others.
So, there is some of the most common violations we've seen in 2022 and how you can steer clear of trouble:
𝟏. 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Last year, a whopping 588,000 lighting and reflective sheeting violations were issued! Don’t let your truck be an easy target. Regular checks of your lights, especially in the dark, can prevent these violations. Catching them early avoids surprises during a DOT inspection.
𝟐. 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: In 2022, 42,000 truckers were cited for seat belt violations. Each violation costs you 7 points on your CSA score. Don’t take this risk! Onboard driver monitoring and inward-facing truck cameras can be your best friend here, helping prevent these violations and keeping your drivers safe.
𝟑. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Speeding violations top the list, with over 109,000 issued this year. Slow down and stay DOT compliant! Regularly reviewing your ELD or GPS data can help you identify and address speeding issues within your fleet. Juries aren’t lenient with non-compliant companies, so make this a priority!
𝟒. 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Though less common, sign violations (80,000 last year) can still put a dent in your record. Stay vigilant and obey traffic signs. If you think a violation is unjust, consider submitting a DataQ request. Avoid these violations by ensuring your drivers are focused and alert.
𝟓. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐔𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞: Using a handheld device while driving is extremely dangerous and carries a hefty 10-point penalty. We've seen over 14,500 violations in 2022.
The solution? Driver-facing cameras. Yes, it might be a tough sell, but it's worth it for everyone's safety. Don’t let distracted driving tarnish your record!
Remember, being proactive is key to avoiding these violations. Regular inspections, proper training, and embracing technology can make a world of difference. Stay safe out there, truckers!
