📓 ATTN educators: Fall curriculum planning starts now. Here is one series you need to know about.

'People of the West' is a free, 10-part documentary series that traces the history of California from the Indigenous perspective, from creation stories through colonization, resistance, and survival, all the way to present day.

"What happened to Native Americans wasn't a genocide. We are the survivors of a holocaust. They called it expansion or civilization or manifest destiny. But it was extermination."

Brad Munoa, creator and executive producer and member of the Pechanga Band of Indians, is telling the story that classrooms have left out for generations.

Your free toolkit includes a 155-page curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom-ready materials built to use out of the box. All you have to do is bring it to your students.

"It's a story of resistance and survival and cultural renewal. The beauty in here isn't the terrible things we went through. It's how we survived and navigated."

🤑 Budgeting for a film is hard enough. Budgeting for its campaign? That's where things get tricky.

Christie Grosz spent a decade at The Hollywood Reporter before she ever worked an awards campaign. Now a publicist who's worked everything from 'Spotlight' to scrappy indie docs, she knows firsthand that awards season isn't about matching the big studio budgets, it's about knowing exactly what you have and using it well.

In this "To Be Seen" conversation, Christie breaks down the real catch-22 behind budgeting for a campaign:

💸 Why it always comes back to figuring out what you actually have to work with, then building from there

💸 Why an impact campaign can elevate a film and show its importance without chasing an awards run at all

💸 Why giving a film room to breathe matters more than rushing to call it a contender, since plenty of great films never make the shortlist

That's a wrap on our "To Be Seen" interview series. 🎬

Five conversations, one clear thread: the smartest campaigns aren't built on resources; they're built on resourcefulness.

This is such an important story, we can't wait for the world to see it. 🎬

'Being Heumann' opens the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September, telling the story of Judy Heumann and the 1977 504 Sit-in, the longest nonviolent occupation of a U.S. federal building, where disabled activists fought for the rights that would eventually shape the Americans with Disabilities Act. ♿

Directed by Siân Heder (Oscar winner for 'CODA'), starring Ruth Madeley as Judy Heumann and Mark Ruffalo, this is the kind of film that reminds us what collective action can actually accomplish.

Mark your calendars: 'Being Heumann' will premiere in select theaters November 6th, streaming on Apple TV November 13th.
