Her love for full-fashion machine knit became the life-long passion when she met Mr. Whang, the Head technician of machine knit division at E-Land Group, the largest fashion retail conglomerate in South Korea. With the fundamental hands-on experience, she came to the U.S.A. and honed her design skills at Donna Karan International, Liz Claiborne’s DKNYC, Li&Fung Group, Elie Tahari and Vince Camuto for more than 15 years. Nam launched her first contemporary knitwear collection N/A/M® in 2014. She has shipped high quality sophisticated sweater knits to boutique stores throughout the country. With her sensibility and practicality in design combined with unparalleled knowledge in sweater machine knitting, she invented S’hug™ in her 3rd N/A/M® collection in 2016. Growing up, Nam was influenced by her father who is one of the founders of Logen Logistics®, the fourth largest courier service companies in South Korea. Her transformation from a designer to an inventor and to a business developer seems to be a natural path. Her company’s slogan is “Wear Smart™.” Fashion doesn’t have to be always glamorous or trendy. Fashion = Love is her design formula. Nam believes S’hug™ will allow mothers to give more hugs to their children and the children will be safely protected in B’zT™.
