A traffic stop involving the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is raising questions after an officer is seen grabbing a citizen by the arm.

According to information surrounding the incident, the encounter allegedly began as a traffic stop for running a red light. During the interaction, the officer can be seen making physical contact with the citizen and grabbing the citizen’s arm.

The video raises questions about what led up to that moment, why physical contact was initiated, and what occurred throughout the entire stop.

We are sharing the footage so the public can view the interaction for themselves.

At this time, we are not making a determination about whether the officer or citizen acted appropriately. The complete circumstances, police report, and any available body-camera footage could provide additional context.

This is a developing story.

Does this situation really require a physical escort—and did it escalate into excessive force?

During an IMPD budget hearing in Indianapolis, Jamaal Shabazz was ordered to leave the meeting. As Shabazz attempted to gather his belongings, he objected to officers physically touching him before the encounter escalated.

Was this level of physical force necessary to remove someone from a public meeting, or could the situation have been handled differently?

Repost from Crime with Auntie

(TWO GRANDMOTHERS. TWO
CHILDREN LEFT IN HOT CARS. TWO VERY DIFFERENT LEGAL RESPONSES.

One grandmother is white.

One grandmother is Black.

Dr. Stacey Fazenbaker’s 10-month-old grandson, Scottie Crowell, was reportedly left in a vehicle for approximately 8 HOURS while she went to work.
Karen Denise Benyard’s 17-month-old granddaughter was reportedly in a vehicle for approximately 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Yet look at the difference in the immediate legal response shown on this scorecard.

And THIS is where I want America to explain something to me: When a Black defendant is arrested quickly, we’re constantly told, “Race has nothing to do with it. Follow the facts.”

Lt. Mike Gray’s disciplinary report is provided below. Based on the findings documented in the report, should Lt. Gray be considered for placement on the Brady/Giglio list, and should the circumstances warrant consideration of a demotion from his current rank?
