Now that's what we call a well-traveled Ingram cup! In her recent month off the vessel, Melinda "Moe" Thornton, Cook IV on the M/V Joe B. Wyatt, took a well-deserved vacation through Ireland. Of course, she also kept her Ingram gear close during her adventures 🙂

On this week's Terminal Thursdays, we're featuring a key element of our terminal operations: the Sennebogen, pictured here. The name actually refers to the German manufacturing company, Sennebogen, which is known globally for its material handlers, cranes, and specialized industrial equipment.

At our terminals, Sennebogens are primarily used for moving material from barge to truck or truck to rail. They can also be used for moving other pieces of heavy equipment. They are massive and require specialized training to operate.

It's remarkable how one photo can capture close to a century of experience between two outstanding associates!

Gus Haralambidis (L) is a Sr. Port Mate in Paducah, KY, and has been with Ingram for just under 46 years. David North (R) is General Manager of Logistics & Customer Service in Reserve, LA, and has also been with Ingram for just shy of 46 years.

We sure are lucky to have their combined 92 years of industry knowledge and expertise shaping our operations!

This week's Towboat Tuesday: M/V Harold B. Warren, named after Ingram's former Fleet Dispatch General Manager for our Triangle Fleet in Louisiana. Harold began his more than 40-year career on the river as a member of the Bull Gang in Louisiana, and retired in 2023.

The M/V Harold B. Warren is a 1,550-horsepower, twin screw towboat measuring 70 feet in length and 26 feet in width. The vessel was built in 1980 by Rayco Shipbuilders & Repairs in Bourg, Louisiana.

After more than 30 years with Ingram Barge Company, we want to wish a happy upcoming retirement to Allen Burkett, Chief Licensed Engineer on the M/V P. B. Shah. He recently finished his last hitch on the vessel, and his crew gifted him with this engraved bell. Allen, thank you for your decades of hard work and dedication to Ingram, you will be missed!

As the M/V Chuck A. J. Arnold moved along the Tennessee River earlier this month, Pilot Mark Smith's wife and daughter sent their love to him from the shore in Savannah, TN. These are the moments that keep our Mariners going ❤️

Terminal Thursdays is back again with another answer to a question about this side of Ingram Marine Group's business.

Most of our Terminal operations are located in St. Louis, MO: why?

St. Louis is a major hub for terminal operations because of its strategic location on the Mississippi River system, as multiple inland waterways, rail networks, and interstate highways converge here. Through an extensive network of river terminals and storage yards, this region supports high volumes of bulk and breakbulk commodities, including aggregates, grain, steel, fertilizer, and industrial materials.

Its central location in the U.S. and multimodal infrastructure make St. Louis an efficient distribution point for moving freight between barge, rail, and truck, helping shippers reduce transportation costs and improve supply chain flexibility.
