Snarky Cake is back on her throne. 👑 🎂

For years, this messed up cake with the cattywompus candles was my best seller. Then she got bumped. I don't fully know why — but, at a market this past weekend, she was the best selling card.

It's tough love, it's sass, it's not taking itself too seriously...

You’ve probably heard the expression “A jack of all trades is a master of none.” Maybe you’ve probably felt that personally.

If you’ve had a winding path — multiple careers, multiple interests, not necessarily a throughline — someone has probably implied that’s a problem.

But that’s not actually the full quote.

The full version is: “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

Isn’t that so much better?!

Every job, no matter how “weird,” every skill you picked up along the way — it’s all in there somewhere.

My path went from biomedical library to reproductive justice work to cardstock and glitter. Every bit of it led here, to Queen Fayzel and making greeting cards for obvious and overlooked occasions.

For a long time, I lived in environments where communication was something you performed rather than something you actually did.

You guessed. You managed. You softened. You read the room until you were exhausted. 😮‍💨

And saying what you actually meant felt risky, or rude, or like too much. 🛑

I got tired of it. I think a lot of people are tired of it too.

Queen Fayzel is my answer — not a fix, but a practical tool for people who want to actually show up for each other.

How many cards are languishing in your drawer, unsent?

If your card stash is feeling stale, you're not the only one. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Instead of letting them sit there and guilt-trip you, swap out your cards for some fresh ones –without spending a dime.

As a recovering card-hoarder, I've learned that sometimes I just need to clear out the old stuff, find it a good home, and make room for a refresh.

Join me this Thursday. Bring the cards you're never going to send and leave with ones you actually will.
