Grey Thunder Carriage Services

Today was our first carriage job since Roc's passing. Originally the client wanted the white horse and carriage but we think Duke did a mighty fine job playing the part as Cinderella's horse for her carriage.

It was a rainy day for the couple's big day but Duke did great for pictures in the rain as well as the couple's ride around the block.

Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Gutierrez! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your big day.

We have put off sharing this news as this loss has been extremely hard for us all.

A month ago we had to say goodbye to our Roc boy. This horse was a one of a kind horse by far. He was the true definition of the term "Gentle Giant". At the World Percheron Congress this summer, he became a World Champion in the Costume Class where one of our youth dressed him up as Dolly Parton and she was Willie Nelson. It's almost as if he needed to be in Heaven to give Dolly Parton her grand entrance through the pearly gates when she passed a week later. He was typically the #1 pick for our clients and their carriage jobs as he would win them over with his personality and coloring.

Not only was he a carriage horse but also a 4-H horse that adored working with the youth. And he even was part of the hitch Grey Thunder Percherons before becoming the 4-H and carriage horse where he was in the swing of the 6-horse hitch.

We are extremely heartbroken with this loss. We know he is enjoying all the carrots and apples while also giving the best nose nudges.
