We stumbled upon a Facebook post that read like a challenge, 'Help, I need to hoist a fridge into my duplex!' The customer had just given his rental a fancy new look and wanted to upgrade the appliances too. Problem was, the staircase was a no-go - we barely squeezed the stove in, and that was already pushing it. Two other crews had already given it a thumbs down, but we thought, why not us? I swung by to scope out the situation and luckily, our crew was wrapping up another move just around the corner. A few weeks ago, we received an unusual request to relocate a fireplace from the second floor to the first floor. Initially, this didn't seem particularly unusual until the customer mentioned that a winch had been used to hoist it upstairs. Upon assessing the task, I visited the site to evaluate the challenge. The fireplace measured approximately 4.5 feet tall and 6 feet long, making stairs an implausible option.
