Some cruise passengers could now face around a $70 fine just for taking food out of the buffet or restaurants onboard.

A cruise line recently introduced a new rule saying food has to be eaten only in designated dining areas. That means no more casually taking pizza to the pool deck, bringing snacks back to your cabin, or walking around with buffet food.

The company says the policy is meant to help with cleanliness and hygiene onboard, but a lot of cruisers online are not happy about it at all.

Many people are saying this is something passengers have done for years on cruises and that enforcing it would be almost impossible. Others think the cruise line should focus more on improving cleanliness in general instead of fining guests over food.

The rule comes from Costa Cruises, which is owned by Carnival Corporation.

I can already imagine the debates this is gonna start 👀 Would you be okay with this rule or do you think it goes too far?

I thank myself every time I decided to book that cruise instead of waiting “for the right moment” 🚢

Some of my favorite memories happened at sea. Who else feels this way?

Royal Caribbean recently confirmed orders for TWO more Icon Class ships: Icon 6 and Icon 7. That means this is what the company’s future newbuild lineup now looks like:

2026 — Legend of the Seas
2027 — Hero of the Seas
2028 — Icon 5 + Oasis 7
2029 — Icon 6 + Discovery Class 1
2030 — Icon 7
2032 — Discovery Class 2

And honestly… this future fleet is looking absolutely insane!

The Icon Class ships are already the biggest cruise ships in the world, and Royal Caribbean keeps expanding the class faster than anyone expected. By 2030, there will be SEVEN Icon Class ships sailing around the world!

At the same time, Royal Caribbean is also preparing an entirely new class of ships: Discovery Class. We still know very little about these ships, but official filings suggest they’ll carry around 4,300 passengers at double occupancy, putting them somewhere around Quantum Class size. Smaller than Icon and Oasis Class ships, but still massive compared to most cruise ships out there.

Royal Caribbean hasn’t really revealed much else yet. No official design, no features, no real look at what these ships will actually be like… which honestly makes the hype even bigger.

Which future ship are you most excited for?

Virgin Voyages has officially launched its first-ever Alaska season with Brilliant Lady!

The adults-only cruise line is now sailing 7- to 12-night itineraries from Seattle and Vancouver through Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, visiting destinations like Ketchikan, Sitka and Prince Rupert.

Virgin is also completely customizing the onboard experience for Alaska, with glacier and wildlife-focused excursions, Alaska-inspired food and cocktails, themed activities, cultural experiences and even new scenic spaces onboard designed specifically for these sailings.

The season includes whale watching, glacier trekking, salmon fishing and more, while Brilliant Lady itself features upgraded public spaces with panoramic views perfect for scenic cruising.

Virgin says demand for these sailings has already been extremely strong as the cruise line expands into one of the world’s most popular cruise destinations.

Carnival Cruise Line just officially opened Mangrove Bay at Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras!

The destination, formerly known as Mahogany Bay, just received a major upgrade with a brand-new 48,000 sq. ft. pool area featuring a swim-up bar, splash pad for kids, cabanas, loungers, and poolside daybeds.

Carnival recently announced a $93 million investment into improving the destination as part of its Paradise Collection, which also includes Celebration Key and RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay.

Isla Tropicale already features beaches, restaurants, bars, shopping, local artisan kiosks, a scenic chairlift, and space for two Carnival ships to dock at the same time.
