It's the 4th of July!
Does anyone know why today is important? Shockingly, a surprising percentage of our population does not posess a strong command or understanding of neither the events which led to a day like today, or what today truly stands for.
Some will guess correctly and mutter out "it's Independence Day" Do they know which country did we gain our independence from? Why did we seek independence? what did it take to achieve it?
Due to the fact that in the agregate we don't truly understand how "we" were able to affirm and secure our so called unalienable rights, it's highly likely that we equally don't understand what's required to defend and keep them. For this reason it's my firm belief that the most important of all our rights, the freedom of speech/expression has already been lost. Yes! this is correct! In America, the freedom of speech has disappeared. It was stolen from us by those who prefer a different form of government. These individuals don't understand that althouth we can "vote" our way into comunism, at some point in the future, our children will have to "shoot" their way out of it, very much like we had to in the not so distant past. It seems that our history teachers have failed to impart on us the lessons from the past.
Today, in just about every university, an alleged place of higher learning, is anything but that. Evident truths can't be expressed in any way since doing so will normally land you in the unemployment line, or worse, physically injured. On this very platform, as well as youtube and goggle, prominent American companies, you CANNOT express proven truths and doing so will land you in a situation where you would have somehow violated community guidelines. Does this sound like we still have freedom of expression?
We should be free to publically state our thoughts, whether they are true or not without any fear of repercussion, persecution, or professional castigation. During the last so called pandemic, DOCTORS!! were shut down by nerdy f**s at twitter. Thank God for Elon musk in that regard.
Unless we today and posthaste mount a full fledged defense of this fundamental right, we will pay a heavy price as a society.
