Inspiration

Why do we seek God? Simon the Sorcerer thought he could buy the gift of the Holy Spirit, and he got quite the response! His selfish motivation was revealed in his actions. Here’s a way to test our motives: Do we seek to know and do God’s will, or do we hope to bend Him to our will? If we desire God simply because of what we hope to gain in this life, it’s time to reexamine our motives.

Morning Prayer

Lord, I confess that in my selfishness I sometimes envy the gifts of great teachers and leaders, and wish that You would make me more like them. But I come before You today asking that You help me overcome my pride, and equip me for the work that You have called me to, not for my sake, but for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Please keep our family in your prayers… My oldest Nephew Tevin Murphy has received his wings… I have been in a place where I’m numb and not really feeling it…I remember when he was born I could not go to school without seeing his face to love on him and hold him and hug him and now he’s gone? It probably won’t kick in until I see him for the last time so pray for us y’all… Life is short and never say what you will or won’t do… Just look at what we did in the past and we’re still here to bless and care for our loved ones whether they’re here or not; it’s our responsibility🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 I love you Tevin, more than you have ever known… Gone but never forgotten❤️❤️❤️❤️

Arrangements for Tevin: RS Lewis Funeral home. Visitation: Walnut Grove location Friday, Feb 9th from 4-6pm. Services will be Saturday, Feb 10th at noon at The Healing Cathedral on Elvis Presley. Interment : Memorial Gardens Southwoods.

Inspiration

Our Lord Jesus Christ would have us not be embittered when mistreated by others. He would have us not return evil for evil but overcome evil with good. He commands us to wish well for and pray for those who do us wrong, caring more for the souls of others than for our own physical comforts.

Morning Prayer

Lord, it is not natural to the natural man to return good for evil, blessing for cursing, prayer for mistreatment. But that is the tall order you have given to us. Help us keep our spirits loving towards others and desiring their well being even when we have suffered some wrong at their hands.

Amen.

Inspiration
It is good to honor the elderly. They are full of wisdom, and they have lived through a lot of things. There is much that we can learn from them. More important than that is to fear God. God is worthy of our fear and awe. He is awesome and mighty, and He puts His wisdom in the elderly.

Night Prayer

Father in Heaven, I pray for those who have gone before me, who have more years on me, and whose face shows wisdom. LORD, give them strength to do Your will until their last breath. Bless them with company and purpose. Let them feel Your love and goodness. Stir their hearts with excitement to meet You face to face and to do what is pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus' name.

Amen.
