Lucky enough to spend the week at Finest Playa Mujeres in Cancun for a destination wedding!

Beautiful resort, great company, amazing food, and no shortage of top-shelf drinks.

Like any trip, there were a few unexpected detours along the way… but that’s where DeBrock’s DeTours comes in. Making sure the bumps in the road don’t take away from the overall experience is what it’s all about.

At the end of the day, we still got to celebrate in paradise, and that’s a win.

If you’re thinking about a destination wedding or getaway, I’d love to help you navigate the smooth parts and the detours.

I was lucky enough to escape the cold this week, and wanted to give a review of the resort we stayed at.

We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya, roughly 35 minutes south of Cancun International Airport. The resort is huge! In addition to its size, it’s very mature and established with gorgeous trees and bushes separating each building from the pathways that are intertwined.

The Good: the resort is gorgeous! They have also renovated rooms and you can tell. Our room was updated with built in Bluetooth speakers, motorized blinds on the windows, and a separate toilet (and bidet, if you’re into that!). The staff was amazing, and very helpful. The food was also very good, I can be picky on what I enjoy on my foods and was able to customize orders and still have delicious meals.

The Bad: The suite we selected is in the very far corner of the resort, which led to a ton of walking to get to nearly everything: pool, restaurants, you name it. (They do offer a golf cart ride, if you’re patient). The beach was very rocky in front of our suites, to the point it would be dangerous to swim there. Finally, the night life dies off around 10:00.

Ultimately, this resort is gorgeous and great for those looking for a calm, slow-paced, relaxing vacation!
