Shyfted Minds

Shyfted Minds Official page of Shyft's home record label and other projects. This does not mean that the work is not taken seriously.

Anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-anti-intellectualism, anti-subjectivist, against political apathy, and angry about it. Shyfted Minds is an independent company founded and headed by Shyfted VahtiDahl and focused on three media fields: music, fiction literature, and video games. Founded in 2008, Shyfted Minds is dedicated to the highest quality of creativity on the lowest possible budget, utilizing

primarily digital distribution and Internet viral marketing (also justice). Shyfted Minds promotes independence, free thinking, and creative design unlimited by trends and particular attitudes. Respect goes to the true professionals, but Shyfted Minds is dedicated to the stylistically smart amateur. Shyfted Minds Music Division:
Some where near the beginning of Shyft’s musical career the Shyfted Minds label name was being kicked around, but it wasn’t until 2008 that the name really went in to use, being an outlet for Shyft’s hard core project, Red Ankh, and Philopsycho Lawlawlawl. The label today has a heavy focus on electronic hard core with a few other small time artists on board with the most recent projects, but is hoped to expand to other genres and build a community of artists. It is headed by Shyft with the support of Kyat Dittman. Currently, all albums and EPs are released digitally in 320kbps completely free of charge, though donations are accepted. If influence is taken from any one other label, it would have to be Cardiac Records. Shyfted Minds Literary Department:
Currently the publishing over head for Shyft’s science fiction/fantasy novels. Since writing and editing a book takes a great deal of time longer than composing and producing an album, the Literary Department’s catalog isn’t nearly as extensive as the Music Division. Shyft’s novels are heavily influenced by western philosophy and his dreams, as well as the works of Stephen King, Robert Heinlein, and Lewis Carroll’s nonsense. Shyfted Minds Games Divide:
The Games Divide does not yet have any official publications to date. The coders and artists are still in training, but many concepts are on the table. Story, music, and 2D graphics will be handled by Shyft; Derek Mayer is on coding, modeling, and animation; Mike Kyslinger is on coding; Phineas Overton is on 2D graphics, modeling, and animation.

The Red Ankh album "Red" started out as a symphonic prog metal album. Then it was more of a symphonic industrial prog metal album--distorted bassdrums and synths will do that to a symphonic prog metal album. Then it was more of a symphonic industrial neofolk prog metal album with rock opera qualities. Then, at 101 minutes of playtime, we decided it was done. Up on Bandcamp and streaming services now.

The 24-track genre-defying psychological horror album five years in the making is finally complete! [Feind] tells a story of hatred, fear, and despair, and illustrates how, if we're not careful, these things can transform us in to monsters. This is releasing alongside its companion album, [Shyft], my answer to the darkness. Speaking of which...

The 24-track synthwave-oriented album five years in the making is finally complete! [Shyft] is the companion album to [Feind], a story of recovery from hatred and despair, of reflection and learning to love life again, finding the will to fight for our shared future.

Kyat Dittman has given us Frei, a 26-track instrumental MEDIEVAL FOLK MUSIC album! Shyft: I'm finally getting tracks finished for an album that I started when I had just moved to Denver in summer 2015! It's going to be a double, with one side being grittier and darker, the other being more synthy and colorful, with some crossover. The colorful side is a reflection on the melancholia, loneliness, passion, and craving to be a part of something bigger that I struggled with during my high school years, and the mental illness associated with it. See two singles in the comments.
