Your Sir Cruz is honored to receive this recognition, and even more grateful to share it with all of you. Being an international teacher here in the United States hasn’t been easy, but through all the challenges, our dedication and love for teaching continue to shine through and be appreciated.

I would like to dedicate this recognition to my roots in the Philippines, where my journey as an educator began. Everything I’ve learned and experienced back home has helped shape the teacher I am today and I’m proud to bring those lessons to the other side of the world.

To my Peterson Elementary School Family , thank you for seeing my efforts, appreciating my work, and supporting me through this life-changing transition. And to my amazing principal, Mr. Brian Freeman, thank you for always believing in my abilities and potential. You’re more than a leader, you’re a true mentor. I’m grateful to learn and grow under your guidance.

This recognition may seem small to some, but for me, it holds all the tears, triumphs, and late nights that came with adjusting to life in a new country. It hasn’t been an easy journey but with just a few weeks left before the school year ends, I can finally say…

FOR AWARENESS OF ALL TRAVELERS:

I was thinking about whether to post this or not but I have to share my worst experience here at our airport in the Philippines.

This is the reason why I couldn't board or check in with the airline because there was a tear on the upper right side of my passport (see pic). I wondered why there was a tear, my passport was fine at Davao airport. I just paid for something for a while then when I came back I was shocked that they said we couldn't leave because my passport was torn. I wondered why there was a tear on that page, I don't know what happened while they had my passport while I paid for something. It's alarming because three of us couldn't leave on a group tour internationally, same case, the passport was torn.

Be careful who you give your passport to, especially at the airport. Before you give it to them for checking, show that there is nothing wrong or torn in your passports. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PASSPORTS UNATTENDED, if you owe anything, pay it immediately so you don't leave your passport with them.
