About 3 years ago, after my husband’s cancer treatments, we took our first cruise to Alaska. It was something he wanted to do. ❤️ I wasn’t sure cruising was for me.
I spent HOURS researching, calling cruise lines, asking a million questions, and changing cabins. By the time we sailed, I’m pretty sure they recognized my number. 😂 I had no idea a travel advisor could help!
When you’re spending $5,000–$6,000, you want to know what you’re getting. My budget does not include “expensive disappointment.”
Well… we LOVED it! Ten cruises later, I’m now a travel advisor. My training and certifications through multiple cruise lines showed me how much I hadn’t known.
Every cruise line and ship is different. “All cruises are the same” is like saying boxed w**e is basically Ch*****ne if you shake it hard enough.
Now, about the hair… 😂 People do their own hair to save money. They book cruises online for the same reason: “I can do it myself!” You can. But will you love the results or need someone to fix them?
Online isn’t always less. And that $12 box of hair color gets expensive when you need a $300 rescue appointment.
My host agency reserves blocks of cabins on select sailings, so I may have a better price PLUS perks like onboard credit, specialty dining, or a spa treatment, depending on the offer.
Call the cruise line yourself, and YOU still need to know what to ask. “Does it float?” is only the beginning. 😂
Advisor commission is generally already built into the fare. Booking without an advisor doesn’t mean that amount gets deducted. You may just be giving yourself an unpaid job.
And your friend’s favorite ship might not be YOUR perfect fit. You love quiet ocean views. She loves a waterslide and a DJ. Both vacations are great but possibly for different people.
Planning a group cruise? If choosing dinner takes 47 texts, imagine choosing a ship, cabins, and an itinerary.
Message me before the group chat ruins the vacation and domestic tranquility goes overboard. 😂
