What’s the difference between Goudse kaas and Noord-Hollandse kaas? 🧀🇳🇱

Despite the name, Gouda cheese doesn’t necessarily come from Gouda! Gouda historically became famous as a place where cheese was traded, which is how the name became associated with the cheese.

Noord-Hollandse Gouda, on the other hand, is a protected regional cheese made with milk from North Holland. It’s known for being especially rich, creamy and full of flavor.

Basically: both are delicious Dutch cheeses, but a Noordhollander is usually a little richer and creamier. The more you know! 🇳🇱
