Our Burbank Club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles to visit the Campo de Cahuenga. The group enjoyed touring the site and learning about the Conquest of California.

Our Weingart Club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles for breakfast at Meyers Manx Cafe in the Petersen Automotive Museum, then walked over to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
From Travel Buddy June: We saw several exhibits, but Marilyn Monroe was our focus. We were able to join the 1pm Close-Up docent-led tour. Our docent was great! She was very knowledgeable, shared facts we may not have known and was very personable. She did have a speaker, but the groups are deliberately kept "small" so everyone can see and hear.
The immersive GLOW exhibit is visible from the 3rd and 2nd floors. Very soothing.

Our Santa Monica Club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles to the Bergamot Station Art Center. The group loved the sign in the back which was the title of the exhibit. As seniors we seem to be always adapting to the rapid effects of aging.

Our Redondo Beach Club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles to the Keiro no Hi Festival in Little Tokyo. This annual festival honors older adults and celebrates their longevity. This day long event includes, music, education, entertainment, and bento box lunches.

Our Long Beach club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles for a day trip to Culver City. The group visited the famous Culver Stairs, saw the historic Culver Studios, and learned about the first family.
The outing was topped off with a delicious lunch at Mendocino Farms and ice cream from Salt & Straw Ice Cream. As if the day couldn’t be more perfect, beautiful, perfect CA weather-which made it an awesome and memorable day for everyone.

Our Pasadena Club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles to the Downtown Los Angeles Public Library, where the group checked out the Guinness World Records largest pop-up book.

Metro’s Older Adult Transportation Pop-Up events bring transportation information and resources directly to older adults in their communities.

These free, interactive events help participants build confidence using Metro and other public transportation options.
Events include:

•Senior TAP Card and reduced-fare information -- seniors 62 and older, Medicare recipients and people with disabilities can ride for 75 cents per ride or 35 cents at off-peak hours.

•Travel tips and demonstrations

•Information from other community mobility providers

•Opportunities to ask questions and get one-on-one support

Our Westchester Club was on the move this month, traveling via Metro Los Angeles to Dowtntown LA for a walking tour. The group visited Pershing Square, The Last Book Store, The Bradbury Building, The Legacy Move Palaces on Broadway, Angels Flight, and Grand Central Market. Phew! That's a jam packed day!
