Current project is a 36 foot Sabre.

This boat is awesome. Earlier this year we repainted the hull of this boat to bring it back to life. Now we have the task of redoing the topside.

This boat is 22 years old, still young. Unfortunately this boat and other boats built in the east coast used the same gel coat supplier which over time started showing defects in the finish. At some point this boat was painted to cover up the cracks, but the cracks were never repaired.

Thankfully the owner of this boat is my friend and trust us enough to do this boat right. We are on day 4 of grinding out cracks and filling. Slow work but when we are done we will have addressed 90% of the cracks and hopefully this will solve the issue for the next couple of years.

In addition to the work being done i will be moving the radar mast forward on the hardtop and utilizing the space behind the radar to add some nice new roof rails. Now the owner will be able to haul some kayaks and paddle boards without interfering with the radar.

I will be uploading the progress as we go.

Hull joint repair and gelcoat.

Here we have a boat that started showing some cracks at the hull joint.
We removed the vinyl name to do further inspection, after that we did the necessary repair needed so that this crack doesn’t show up again.
The transom was then sanded down and gelcoat was applied. After some sanding and buffing this transom is ready for its new name.

Hi guys, its been a while since i posted anything since a lot of my work has been repeat work.

Here we have a boat that had an accident where a hole was punched into the hull.

We took apart the cabinetry in the v berth in order to repair the fiberglass properly.
Once all the glass work was done cabinets were reassembled to its original build. The hull was then de-waxed and sanded down and now we have the first coat on.

If your are a painter you know that the dark colors are always the hardest to get perfect.

Also side note. The inside and outside of the boat was masked off to prevent and dust going into the water.

Here is a little update on the work we have been doing on the Gray Whale at the Cabrillo Aquarium.
We made a platform at the base of the whale using marine grade plywood that was covered in fiberglass. Then painted with a non skid textured finish with Marlin blue paint from AwlGrip.
On the whale we used a variety of shades of white and gray with a sponge to replicate the barnacle scars.
The whale still needs the barnacles to be attached and some final touches, but other then that this thing is looking good!
