On a balcony in San Francisco, it all started with a kiss... š
On June 4, 2019, Rose and I shared a moment overlooking the San Francisco Bay. It was one of those moments you donāt plan. The sun was going down. The city was glowing. We barely knew each other, but something about that moment felt bigger than both of us. One minute, we were just two people watching the evening unfold. The next, everything changed.
I didnāt know then that Rose would become my wife, my partner, my best friend, and the person I would build a life and business with.
I didnāt know that one kiss would lead us into a life of adventure, healing, uncertainty, wild dreams, and hard lessons. I didnāt know it would carry us across continents, through years of building a life together, and eventually into a work for the Amazon Rainforest.
I didnāt know our love story would become AmaSKN.
We built AmaSKN around rainforest ingredients that come from non-timber forest productsāa way to show that the forest can be worth more standing than cut down.
Because of your incredible support over the years, weāve been able to help support clean water access for families, contribute to education for Indigenous children, and partner with Indigenous women artisans through our bead project.
There have been moments of pure magic, and moments where we had no idea how we were going to keep going. But every jar of Rainforest Radiance Cream and every bottle of Rainforest Beauty Drops reminds us why we started.
Today, on the anniversary of where our story began, we just want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting our small business.
Thank you for believing in a brand built to do something different. Thank you for helping us turn a love story into something that could create beauty, connection, and real impact.
Happy anniversary, Rose. And thank you to our amazing community for walking this path with us.
āØWith gratitude,
Shane
