Sunday Sunset! We Welcome you and Thank You for joining us. We hope everyone’s doing well and we want to go ahead and acknowledge everyone that has been joining us!
From the United States to Canada, Canada, We Love You! From Abu Dhabi from the United Kingdom from Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, Spain and Portugal. I mentioned a lot of these places, and I may not be able to mention all of them, because they’re places where we’ve had both people and pets that we’ve done work with and it’s been truly a pleasure and privilege.
So I want to go ahead and jump into Sunday Sunset! Here’s our beautiful Maplewood Hotel, see the porch there, it is beautiful. We should take a minute here. Let’s go ahead and jump in. We had the Marion Skidmore day this weekend. Also Gloria Steinem, who is a big advocate for women’s rights had passed away.
So here’s what I want you to think about. If you can, who’s influenced you? what I really want you to think about is what women in your life influenced you to help you be who you are today? That could be anyone that could be a mother, it might be someone who stepped in as a mother, a father, a sister, cousin, aunt, uncle, teacher, educator someone from work. I want you to really just focus on this.
You know when we look over history, everything that we’ve been given in relation to women, the suffrage movement, being able to have the ability to have your own bank account, and if you were in a relationship where you needed to get out for whatever reason, to be able to finally divorce and a lot of that didn’t happen until the 1970s.
The 1970s still had these two color cards that they used at employment areas. in the United States, in the workplace, there was a blue card and a pink card and somebody asked me about this this past weekend - when a woman went into the workplace it was below $.75 to every dollar that they would make in accordance with the same type type of work that men might be doing. And when I’m talking about this is so that you understand how far that we’ve come and maybe how far that you’ve come and what people have helped you come this far.
The blue card would be given if it was a male position of work and a pink card would be given for a female was able to do that work, and that’s what they did relation with women. They didn’t think that women could do certain positions or jobs, or what have you. But what I really want you to think about is who has influenced you and helped you to get to where you are today if you’re a woman and you have your own own business, you’re an educator you’re teaching. It might be that you’re doing something totally different than you ever thought you were doing, but I want you to think about is who helped you get you to where you are today what women inspired you that that’s gonna be your Challenge for this this week.
Your Challenge for this this week:
What women inspired you how and why
(we’re gonna move to the side that looks like a big camper coming up so we’re just gonna move here…).
I just feel it’s really important to understand our roots and who we are, the women that influenced you, helped you to become who you are and I just feel that it’s really important. At least it feels important to me. Please let us know. Share your comment and share your stories!
We’re going to go home and enjoy a cup of tea with our Family and I’m looking forward to that.
And you know what, let’s remember that we’re still building community together with how we believe, how we learn, and how we grow together and let’s remember to throw that kindness out there. if you’re a female and you’re under the age of 25 please look at doing some research to see how far we’ve come in the United States as there’s many countries for women who don’t have rights. I just want you to think about who’s influenced you and how have they done that and share your story.
Alright, I hope this all makes sense and that’s all we’re going to say for tonight. Remember, let’s keep throwing that kindness out there. Let’s have a great week. Love to All, Jan & Tibbs ❤️🩵🐾✨
